Right now he is 11 weeks and 8 lbs. In my yahoo 360 there is also a picture of his mom. They said she was a schnauzer terrier mix. She is 28 pounds.

I think it looks like a mini schnauzer mix or a standard schnauzer mix. do they know who the dad is? or think of the male dogs it was around when she was bred.

i am a dog expert and you can't know definately for sure. also, who's "they?" are "they" the people who gave bruno to you, his vets, somebody at a humane society? well, if i were you i'd just believe whatever "they" told you... Bruno does look a bit schnauzer to me.

If his Mother was a mix, then he is a mix of what his mother is and whatever his father was.
