Why do guys fall for girly girls and not tomboys? please help!!?

We have a experiment about why guys like the girls that act like that they are all that. why not go for the ones that act like them? and if they do like them then they aren't really into them.

Different guys have preferences. Some like the strong Tomboy. But, to most a woman's vulnerability is part of her appeal. Got to give the white knight the chance to save the damsel in distress.

Also, guys are insecure to varying degrees. Who wants to date a threatening person? You want someone pleasant, not someone who can kick your ***. Mostly.

Some guys like the increased challenge of a tomboy.

There are different types of tomboys. Some just dig hanging with the guys. They are laid back, don't like all the backstabbing that can occur with female friends. Carmen Diaz strikes me as this type, like her character on "There's Something About Mary."

Then, other tomboys are just full on ball breakers. These types are going to attract guys who want a challenge, where the challenge is to tame the wild horse. More bang for controlling a woman that is difficult to control.

Some tomboys make the mistake of trying to date doormat guys they can toss around. This is always a failed strategy.

It's a tough row for tomboy girls. Being friends with lots of guys is the plus side. Trying to be a tomboy and have a lasting relationship might be challenging.

Wow...totally different responses than what I expected.
I consider myself a tomboy in many ways. I've never had a problem with a guy thinking of me to much as just a friend. Actually alot of my friends have wanted to date me. Even when I dressed more grundgy in high school. Jeans and a babydoll T is comfortable shoes I can actually walk in. Monster Truck jams and Demolition Durbies kick butt, too much make up makes your face break out and makes you look fake (in alot of cases), camping is fun, I would love to go fishing. Alot of guys I've met love that I'm into that stuff.
And just because your a tomboy doesn't mean you look more like a guy or are borderline gay....that's horseshit.
I'm a girly girl at times too. Don't like getting dirty, I love cute fluffy animals like bunnies, and I dress up from time to time for fun (alwasy have to at work)....I mean come on!
There are so many ways to describe tomboys
I find it funny alot of responses are from girls commenting for guys....probably more of the girly girl type I guess. Which there is nothing wrong with being a girly girl except when they look or act like a porn star.

Different guys fall in love with different girls...The main things they need is Love, Trust, and to feel...well like a guy. It's ok to be a tomboy...infact it might be better to be a tomboy because you get to do things that guys like to do...just do it more girly than normal when your with guy you want. Make sure you don't make him feel like a girl is better than him at being a guy and doing guy stuff.

Because they are guys, and they want something different than themselves. A tomboy can be one of their friends; but they don't really think of them as girls. If you are a tomboy, try dressing up and I mean really dressing up one day, you will see that they have a different reaction to you.

Also if you notice if you have a group of mainly girls that all have one or two really good male friends, that they don't even think of him as a guy, they don't think of him as a girl either; but the romantic/sexual thoughts about the person just arn't there.

Young, inexperienced guys often go for girly girls because they have yet to realize that real women come in all shapes, sizes and levels of "girliness."

Some grown men like ultra feminine women too and that's not bad as long as they know not to expect her to toss a football or help clean out the garage.

I think that men, once they are comfortable with themselves and once the are self assured, then they go for more well-rounded, complete women.

Personally, most of the men I have known or dated prefer women who aren't too frilly and lacy and they would rather have a woman at their side who can enjoy a bike ride or a hunting trip as much as she likes the opera or going to a fancy dinner.

It's the same as what we women go for in men. In high school the coolest guy with the great car and who was on the football team was chased by many a girl. But fast forward 20 years and he's just an ordinary, bald guy with a gut. Women go for men who can lend a hand at house cleaning or who know how to diaper a baby or who will plan a special weekend...as much as they like a big time jock, etc.

Lucky for us all, we all find different traits attractive. As my great grandfather used to say, "It's luck for me that not every man wanted my lady....she might not be with the likes of me now."

I love tomboys...I dont really like girly girl types...Tight clothes leaves nothing to the imagination,Plus tomboys are a little more experimental if u know what I mean.....If u are a tomboy cant find that right guy I'm right here....But to answer your question most guys like girly girl types cause most guys dont like their relationship challenged...and to me a girl that sports tights clothes to me is insecure about her body and feels she needs to show it off

I suppose that I could fall for a tomboy if she had a personality that I really liked, although you need to make sure you show at least a hint of femininity.

Boys like girls to that think they are all that because for some reason if you think that you all that then the boy think that that means you can fight. Boys want a girl that can fight. Some boys just like that kinda personality. I dont know why but they do. Not all boys is like that though. My brother is 15 and he don't go with them kinda girls. He like tomboys. He dont like a girl with a attutide that think they all that.

It's that old "opposites attract" thing. It may be cliched, but I believe its relevant. If 2 people are TOO much alike, then they are more likely to be too friendly and not as much in a relationship. If you are a tomboy, I think you should take some extra time and do something a little different. If he thinks you don't care about yourself, he's not going to either.

Sorry to disprove you stereotype, but my wife is a tomboy and I wouldn't want it any other way.

The girly type of women annoy the hell out of me. I'd rather have a woman that isn't afraid to get dirty than one that whines for days about breaking her fingernail.

Hell, my wife and I take Tae Kwon Do classes together. It was her idea for us to start them. We both love it!
