If I'm not naturally confident, funny, cocky, and am only slightly...?

above average intelligent, does that mean that all the advice that says "just be yourself" won't get me anywhere with the ladies, because it definately hasn't so far.

~sometimes it's good to "over do it" in one area to make of for lack in another - but still, you must maintain integrity in your own self beliefs/actions/thoughts/attitudes/emotions and so on ... Meaning: so youre not that great looking. Make up for it by being clean/neat, successful/rich, so youre not funny. Make up for it by being sincere/honest, kind, loving ... get it?

No one is naturally confident. Confidence comes from knowing yourself and knowing what you are good at and being ok with the things that you're not so good at. There are no perfect people in this world, we all have faults and we all have wonderful things about us, you included. I think a good example is tv and movies. If you notice, when it comes to male actors, they are not the most handsome or sexy guys in the world. Yes you have your Brad Pitts, but for the most part the men in movies are average looking. So there has to be more to confidence than good looks. Cocky is something you don't want to be anyway, b/c that really means you are insecure and trying to over compensate. The saying be yourself is so true no matter who you are. You don't know, there could be a girl who does notice you, who is daydreaming about you. You don't know how sad it is to see someone who has so much to offer but just doesn't believe in themselves. If you believe in yourself you truly can do anything. It doesn't mean you succeed at everything you try but you still put your best self out there. Don't sell yourself short, the only thing in this world that will ever hold you back is yourself.

You are absolutely right, "just being yourself " won't get you anywhere with chicks and that apply to girls too. Learn to be out going,friendly,helpful to others,not just to the chicks you want to score with. Check your grooming, how to dress to impress,you don't need to break the bank on this,. go to thrift store.. Check men Fashion magazines in the library. Use cologne a good scent is sexy. Is your posture okay? Healthy? Exercise is a must, and the most important is a great sense of humor. It does not matter if you are not handsome,short,fat or skinny,as long that your belief is you are a great and the best person to be around with.

yes, of course, it takes work but you have to become definately confident. You have to have some humor and you can't be completely humble. Intelligence doesn't show anything if you don't know how to use it. Find how to act smart with what you have. After you act like this for a while it will become natural.

keep trying, you haven't found the right lady. if you don't want to wait, go somewhere you normally wouldn't, where no one knows you, and you can be "confident, funny, cocky" without fear of screwing up because if you do, you'll never see the people again and if it does work, you've found yourself a girl.

I think what you should do is find what's best about yourself and highlight that aspect. And be yourself, emphasizing your best qualities. From personal experience, a guy that is true to himself and isn't trying to be what he thinks a girl wants or what a man should be is the most endearing. And that kind of guy truly draws me in.

Try telling people that you are the son of Genghis Khan or maybe that you are the son of GOD! That should get their attention. But definitely don't just be yourself because you sound like a total loser! (I'm JUST KIDDING you!) Drop the role playing and BE YOUR TRUE SELF.
