Why do we find their beliefs silly? What's the true answer? And even if you do have an answer to that....prove it. You can't..because everything we hear or learn is hearsay. Reality is a matter of perception. What you percieve or have been taught is reality is really someone elses perception of reality. Anyone who says the Earth's 6000 years old deserves as much validity as someone who says it's billion's of years old. Tolerance people...tolerance!

Sorry, Christians don't believe the earth is 6000 years old. What ever gave you that idea.
The creation of Adam and Eve is 6000 years old, but the bible states that before God created the fist human pair he created the animals. Humans where his last creation.
Again, Humans where his last creation.
The bible does not state how old the earth is.
Although it talks about 6 days of the creation of the earth, you have to remember that for God 1 day could be a million years.
Remember he told adam that on the same day he would eat the fruit, adam would die, but adam lived to be like 900 years old. So for God one day could be thousands for us.
BTW, Christians who know their bible know that the earth is not 6000 years old, it is not biblical.

I am not scientifically illiterate. In fact, I am very well read in the sciences. I believe what God said, in the Bible, and since He is the only witness to the beginning, I'll choose to trust Him. This world is between 6000-8000 years old. Just like the loaves and fishes He multiplied in Galilee had the appearance of age, so does this world. Do a web search for Dr. Dino or the Genesis Research Institute or Creation Research Institute... you get the picture. There is PLENTY of evidence for a young earth. What about the presence of HUMAN footprints IN dinosaur footprints found in worldwide locations? I will stop for now. Check it out on your own.

Ultimately it does matter what you believe about the age of the earth. One of the reasons is that as soon as you allow the idea for millions of years. You have premitted death, bloodshed, and disease permited before sin ever came into the earth. The bible teaches that death is the penalty for sin. And that is the foundation of the gospel. If you are a christian and believe in an old earth, that won't stop you from getting to heaven through belief on Jesus. But, it will stop you from correctly explaining the gospel message.

see, we have this method of dating, absolute (radiometric) and relative...when combined, that makes the argument for a 4.5 billion year old Earth, very strong and does make the 6000 year old Earth argument, with zero scientific evidence to back it up, rather weak...hence why people probably get irritated
and I never make fun of anyone as a rule

what they dont know is that the bible s story is true but it starts from a period of time of 6000 years ago when God in fact created this world, or re created it because if you read the bible with close attention you will see that there was a period of time previos very very previous to adam and eve. and yes i am christian but dont get nervous you first need to know me.
or ask you something, have you ever been to a church or been a member of one to listen to the full lesson of the origins of this world?
be cool, God bless you all...

maybe you will be able to desire to do a observe learn interior the Hebrew language. The Hebrew observe for day interior the e book of Genesis is a similar observe used for a 24 hour day. it is straightforward to spout off figures, yet once you need to make a declare a minimum of recent some data to teach your argument. The Universe is continuously increasing, and it has already been shown by ability of respected adult males that the theories concerning the earth's age being from now on than the Biblical account declares are turning out to be greater durable and greater durable to teach. you ought to do somewhat examine in this that's no longer biased in direction of your view so which you would be able to examine the two factors of the argument. of direction, for that to ensue could mean you're able to ought to alter your thinking from subjective to purpose which seems to be a significant concern for people who carry your view. The age of the earth is infrequently a huge concern because of the fact the main needed concern interior the Bible isn't the age of the earth however the size of eternity and the area each and every human beings will spend in eternity. in case you die unrepentant and your sins are no longer forgiven you will discover eternity to be worse than the worst horror movie ever imagined, and there will be no desire of escape. in case you repent of your sin and ask God to forgive you from a heart of sorrow to your sin, you will acquire eternal existence and your eternity would be surprising! examine that! Your eternal destiny relies upon on whether or no longer you're top approximately Jesus Christ and there is no longer something greater significant which you will ever elect this component of eternity. believe it now and be delivered from non secular lack of understanding. OR believe it once you bow formerly the throne of a Holy God on the day of judgment in abject terror as he sentences you to the Lake of hearth continuously. Forgot concerning the age of the earth. prepare for eternity. to place that determination off is silly certainly.

If you think that's sad, the other day I had a Christian (who was a full grown adult) tell me that he didn't think the stars were as far away or as large as scientists claimed, he proceeded to tell me his "theory" was that they are just specks of light God put up in the sky to orbit the Earth. I was too shocked to comment. I felt like I had been tele-ported to the Dark Ages.

because it is the intellectual equivalent of saying "2+2 = 5" or anyone above the age of 10 thinking the moon is made of cheese.
Such a blatanly incorrect and moronic statement shows a person's lack of intelligence. But they want to claim that it is not stupid under the guise of religion.
Whats next?
Do we now say that people who are unable to identify who condalizza rice is (as is a favorite past-time of late night tv shows to show how stupid people are) because "god doesn't want us to ask such questions?
Is stupidity to be disguised as religious belief now?

Well, no one should make fun of others for their beliefs, having said that however, given the science and fact behind the actual age of the earth, it does make some Christians look foolish.
