Sounds like he's just warmng up. My mom's dogs (2 small chihuahua breeds age 7 years and 2 years and a very large lab age 7 years) lay in front of the heater all the time. As long as he stays far enough away, if there's an open flame, then it's fine.

LOVE this answer! When I was a kid I liked to wear long night gowns and stand over the vent before I went to bed.

The heat makes him feel comfortable. My dog is 4 year old, very active, energetic, he sits on the heater when he settles down. He constantly seeks for every possible ways to comfort himself
if he is not roaming, or running, or jumping, or begging.

He 's doing it to stay warm. In my opinion, I would not let him sit on the heater, because it may get too hot, and he may get burned. I would try to find a different way, where he could stay, and be nice and warm.

No, it's not bad. My oldest cat does the same thing. I think it feels good to his arthritic bones, plus he just likes to be warm!

my grandad and grandma's dog lays down and puts her feet on the radiator or otherwise pushes her back up against it (but she is a big dog)......i guess they're just trying to keep nice and warm like we do :)

it's not a bad thing but i will say that you try to keep him off of it because his fur can start to burn or something just watch him and don't let him do it alot. i say thiat becaues he might do it while you are gone and could burn up.
