Let's take a look at some of your assumptions before we attempt to answer your question:
First you seem to believe that there are people called "evolutionists." I don't quite know what you mean. Do you refer to people engaged in the study of evolution, along the lines of physicists studying physics?
You next make the interesting assumption that these as-yet-undefined "evolutionists" know everything. If that's the case, I'd like to meet one of them, since I have a great many questions about a great many things.
I suppose that if these "evolutionists know everything" they would be in a position to tell you "what was going on with humans 6000 years ago." Let me know if you find out. I'm curious myself.

They were living in a very different world. There is probably no recording of historic event that describe that world.
Of course no one claims to know everything, so don't come back to ask for any more details like what were they really doing at a certain time.

Evolutionist dont know everything...but they definately know more than creationists.
Fact is, we have documented factual proof that earther is much older than 6k.
We have actual artifacts & even surface caves in that area that were never flooded as far back as 12k-14k years ago.

There is no true answer to this question. Until we master time travel we'll never know for sure. For all we know, Evolutionists and Creationists both could be wrong.

And by the by, your question has to do with Anthropology, not Evolution. I'd ask in the science question for a good answer.

I am not qualified to answer that question. I bet you could find that answer in an encyclopedia. Look it up. Information is out there and available if you care to be educated. Or you can remain blind and ignorant. It is your choice.

Gee, as a legal assistant who has not spent a lifetime studying anthropology or geology, I would have to say I don't know. Why don't you toss the God of the Gaps in there to explain it?
