Religion has to me no essence, i.e. roots, firmness, kernel, inspiration - whereas art and theory do. So religion is essentially nothing. Man indeed is not a finished creation, but is it a creation at all?

That is an interesting question and even within Christianity there are different opinions on whether man was perfect when God created him or in a state that allowed him to get perfected with time. I think the Orthodox believe in the second view while Protestants as a whole in the first one. But as I am not a theologian, it might be better to check that out. Anyway, what I was thinking was that after the Fall man got corrupted so now for sure we can say he's far from perfection. Even people who have experienced conversion and have had a change of mind and heart by God are not perfect. When you think of it, even if (theoretically) a person was able to live without sin, his body will grow old, die and disintegrate into dust which is such a huge physical imperfection. When Jesus comes back and everybody gets resurrected, then will be the time to see the man in all his glory as God had planned it from the beginning of time. (When I write man, please, understand man and woman taken together). So in a sense you're right, the redeeming of man is not finished yet, it's about to come.

HI
We are a finished creation but the world politics are in question in the bible and God plans on changing them soon because they don't benefit everyone.
