Well its just a suggestion, but just b/c you share parents with someone (or any kind of blood for that matter) doesn't mean you are required to keep them in your life. You are a mom and your first priority should be to protect your children and if that means limiting the amount of time your brother is with your children, then so be it. You don't have to answer to anyone. Do you think a mother lion stops to aks herself if she is being rude before she attacks something that is threatening her babies? Hell no! Because he first and only priority is her family. In the bible, it says to leave your old family and cleave to your new one, the only people you are truly obligated to now are your kids and husband (if you have one). The other stuff isn't really even important if you feel your children are at risk and also you owe it to them to bring your best self to the table and if that is being poisoned by the presense of your brother in your life, then I think removing him from your life is appropriate. That doesn't mean you never talk, just limit exposure is all.

It is your job to protect your children from anything you deem as too rough. You are being a good mom and doing your job. The problem with your brother is that he is just one of those toxic humans who cannot respect you or your children. If I have talked with him about this already, and he did not show he was willing to change his behavior and stop his approach to your children and you, I would not go around him. He has no right to abuse you by calling you names in front of your children! It sets a bad example and your children may even pick this up! Do not tolerate this! Sometimes, it is just better to stay away from caustic people in your life! Family or no family!

Bring up the item and discuss it with your husband. He may have a really good way of handling the problem. If he is not an issue anymore, thats too bad. I would suggest taking care of your children and not worry about what your brother thinks about you.

He obviously wont listen to you,and doesnt respect you. If he is grown and so are you then you both should be able to work this out...otherwise you have children and they are your responsilibility so with that said, cut him off from your life

YOur brother is not a good example and person for your children to idolize. you need to know when enough is enough. you know what is best for them. do not let him put you down. understand that his inability to be responsible is making him lash out at you.

It's your choice how you want people to act towards your kids. and if he thinks that your all those things, thats verbal abuse. Don't let him come to your house if he is going to be disrespectful.
