Yes. Coffee contains caffeine which is some kind of mild stimulant. It has the effect of temporarily warding off drowsiness and restoring alertness. Most soda drinks (cola), tea, energy drinks also contain caffeine.
When the caffeine contents are removed from the coffee, that coffee becomes what is called decaffeinated coffee.

Yes. The caffine in coffee stimulates the brain making the synapse's fire quicker. I can't say it makes you smarter. Only you can do that. Garbage in....garbage out. With caffine.... garbage out faster.

Absolutely, this was just answered on yahoo 2 days ago. It helps acutually make you smarter. It stimulates your brain. A few cups that is. It says not to overdo a good thing. enjoy your java!
