There is no such thing as an honest ( put your faith here ) person
( put your faith here ) is nothing but evil lies
Avoid ( put your faith here ) at all costs
( put your faith here ) is rubbish
( pur your faith here ) is a flawed belief
There will be a high cost to those deceived and to you if you dont get out of ( put your faith here )
tell me honestly how it feels ?
then why do so many here bring down those of other faiths

this is just a small sample of the many things that have been said to me about my own faith
but this is widespread amonst others , by people who think that all else is wrong
we need more tollerance and compassion

Good on you. I get fed up of people who pull apart what you believe in when they find out. I got that fed up that only 2 people on my uni course know what i believe in. I wont mention it to the others as some (not all) would pull my beliefs apart, see them as what they are the opposite off, find the negative and inform me that their beliefs are more truthful than mine. Oh and the worst thing is...i study religion at uni so the people on my course should show an understaning of what others believe. (sorry rant off!)
But i fu;ly agree with the point you are trying to make!

Actually, if I put atheism - not a faith, of course - in there, something which many do on my behalf without my bidding, I find I couldn't care less. I feel nothing. These assertions should not have the power to affect anyone's self-preception and if they do, it is not a question of how does it feel, but why DOES it feel like that?
This might be an issue to do with faith per se (and so exludes atheism). The demands some faiths make of certitude cannot be maintained only from within, they need support from outside as well. I think this is especially true of faiths which attribute all kinds of exceptional supernatural qualities to its deities and doctrines: miracles, afterlifes, prayer answering etc. That then requires the person of faith to make unreasonable expectations of others on their behalf - "my faith is important to ME, so YOU must make concessions to that effect". Wouldn't it be better if this showed us the limitations of faith, and called upon those who wish to believe to maintain their faith from within? And perhaps to expect less to be given to them for the simple act of believing something?
This is not, by the way, an excuse to be as rude as the examples in the question. Gratuitous rudeness is unpleasant, undignified, and pointless. And it is also true that the above does not apply to all faiths - Jainism and Buddhism, probably, are notable exceptions. Those faiths are confident that what they believe is not contingent on the approval others. Would that all people of faith could feel the same.

Good 1...
Religion is the root of all evil...
How many atrocities have been committed in the name of a god?
Doesn't matter which god - they're all the same anyway...
I believe in such a thing as a higher being - I just don't agree with the way we worship something we cannot see or feel... something that possibly doesn't even give a ****, might just be watching us to see what happens...

I'm Mormon, and because of this, I hear this type of thing all the time from people here as well as my parents and others.
It doesn't feel good. I feel like there is truth in practically every religion (I don't consider Atheism a religion and some people do), and that my chosen religion can offer a lot to my friends and family, and the fact that they don't even want common beliefs brought up hurts. I can't force them to listen and frankly I wouldn't want to, but it still hurts when those you love reject something that's such a big part of your life, just because their ignorance of it causes them to fear it.

call one mythical god you should positioned your faith in????? Do you recognize what you only reported? ok, per chance you do not. i'd not positioned my faith in ANY mythical God, although I DO positioned my faith interior the single authentic God! it is said as faith. Romans 10:17 New King James version (NKJV) 17 So then faith comes through listening to, and listening to through the note of God. 2 Corinthians 5:7 New King James version (NKJV) 7 For we walk through faith, no longer through sight. i'm sorry that at this second, do you should die, you'll spend eternity in hell. inspite of what you've faith, the actuality is the actuality. in case you do not positioned your believe in Jesus, and ask Him to be your Savior, then you genuinely do not have any Savior. you're devil's. it is our selection. God provides us the free present of salvation, ALL we ought to do is settle for it. Admit you're a sinner and choose a Savior, believe Jesus is God's Son, and that He died on the bypass on your sins, pray and ask God to forgive you and be your Lord. it is extremely uncomplicated. i imagine it is why any such number of people do not settle for Jesus, because it is really elementary. all and sundry is used to having to artwork for each little thing, yet God GAVE us this.

I've seen exactly those things with my faith on this board. Of course it doesn't feel good.
Mostly I realize these people have been fed lots of false information, and that's how they form those conclusions.

I don't think I've ever said any of that unless I was so pissed off by someone's pushiness I just had to go off on them.
That's only been a few times.
