I think it is universal. Especially if you have very long hair. I do it.

some women might not but I don't think you will find too many that don't. We don't want water dripping everywhere when we are trying to get ready. Plus it doesn't take as long to dry when most of the water has been soaked up it the towel. Most women's hair is long and just doesn't dry quick like shorter hair does. It's kind of like ringing out a wet washcloth.

Hee hee, I do it when I need my hair to dry faster and I want it to be naturally wavy and straight.
The towel soaks up the excess water, and after about 8 minutes or so I take the towel off and shake my hair out. No tangles and it's super soft and only damp.

Yes, typically women do this because their hair is longer. The towel continues to absorb the water from our hair and keep it from dripping down all over us and keeps our wet hair off of our clothes if we get dressed prior to drying our hair.

I do! I have to because I have long hair and I don't want water dripping from my hair all over myself and the floor. I leave the towel on for about5-10 min. Long enough for it to soak up the excess water.

No my hair is rolled up in rollers from the night before and I wear a shower cap. I prefer taking a bath and I still wear a shower cap.

What girl doesn't? We all just hate getting dressed with our hair dripping on our nice dry clothes, and it doesn't damge it as much as blow drying. Plus my mom did it too. Habits are learned from Mom's. It is universal especially if you have hair on the longer side, like me

I do if I'm gonna brush my teeth, walk around, or do something where I don't want my long hair in the way. It's a long hair thing.
