I'm trying to run a program but it keeps closing up every time I start it.

You can try compatability mode, but I haven't had much luck with it. Right click the shortcut -> Properties -> Compatability tab.

Right click on the Shortcut on the Desktop and go to Properties from there click on the Compatibility Tab and place a tick in the Run this program in compatibility mode for then in the drop down box choose Windows 95/98/ME/ choose one then click Apply then OK and see how that goes :)

You cannot run them. You need to find an installer of the same program for Windows XP. Many popular programs are available in several installation files. For a given application program, there is an installer for Windows 95, another installer for Windows 98, another installer for Windows XP, another installer for Mac OS, another installer for Linux, or a single installer that can run on all versions of Windows. You need to get the correct program installation file that should match the Operating System running on your computer.

You right click them, go to the compatibility tab in properties, and click " Run this application in compatibily mode for" and choose windows 95 or 98.

you need an dosbox emulator.. it keeps the processor low and it will work .
the today's computer are to performants for what you want
