It's slang used by lazy speakers instead of saying 'going to' etc.

Surely most other languages have substandard speaking patterns. And in Great Britain and other English-speaking countries you will find substandard usages also. Just not these. Why? It could have something to do with the mostly immigrant population, bringing in so many other languages in such quantity. (Of course, Australia would have experienced this, also.) I believe these slurred sounds originated in the South among former slaves.

The standard of education in our Public School System has hit rock bottom.Sexual promiscuity among our teens is sky high.Trendsetters for the teens in the entertainment industry(who are product of the 2 points above) are using those slang,and their version of English in their songs and communication.

gotta =got to(which should be have to) wanna= want to
