flirting is NOT about touching -- its about innuendo and gentle suggestive comments and jokes --- its using body language to show you are interested in getting to know you better

i guess your humour will help you ....................... What is humor? Humor is a social exchange that can be verbal or visual. It is most common between two or more people, and relies on shared reference points. Private jokes are things that two people find funny because they share reference points that other people in the room do not. That's why some people "get the joke," and others don't. What does humor do? Humor diffuses tension and anger, and causes a physical reaction that is a release of energy. Nobody ever died from laughing. They have died from the physical stress of anger, the physical exertion of sex and there is some speculation that loneliness and sadness can cause depression that is so acute, it manifests in physical symptoms that can lead to death. Humor, however, is the anti-death. It's the Vitamin C of depression! Having a fight or a bad day can be diffused -- or even stopped -- with a good laugh. How does this translate to relationships? Fights between people in relationships -- whether they're romantic relationships or family relationships -- often become tangential and narrowly focused. They lose their perspective. A joke, which is funny because it references another level of the fighting, can help shake off the anger, and allow the people fighting to remember that there is more to life than the narrow tangent they're fighting about. Dating advice when it comes to humor: Humor can be a great relief – literally when first dates get awkward, or sex becomes a litany of faux pas’. Rather than focusing on the discomfort at hand, a good joke or a reminder of bigger things in life, can help us feel better about the sex that wasn’t so great or the date that didn’t work out the way it was planned. On the other hand… Some people use humor to avoid real life problems. If you find yourself frustrated because a dating or a sexual problem continues to happen without resolve, and your partner keeps laughing it off, the joke’s not funny, and the humor isn’t working. If you don’t think it’s funny, don’t laugh. Humor doesn’t work if one person is laughing and the other isn’t.

He sounds like a nice, reserved, and respectful guy. I'd pay attention to his glances and subtle smiles. Guys like that have a warmer behaviour about them, so you have to look past grand gestures. That's a good thing though, because he's probably nice to you all of the time and not when the mood strikes.
My boyfriend is shy, not necessarily affectionate, and not too flirty in an obvious way. Our relationship is still pretty new (4 mos.), but I've picked up on a lot of little things that he does to show interest. His body language as well as the look in his eye speak volumes.
Good luck- I know how hard it is for women to figure out men and vice versa! Follow your intuition, too. It's probably stronger than you think!

well do you really want to like a guy just because he's flirting with you? usually its the other way around. But you'll know he's flirting when he starts saying a bunch of sweet things.. making you smile and all of that. But your heart can tell you the difference if he's flirting or just telling that truth, and since you said he has respect for you, he's most likely just telling you the truth, so that means he is interested =)

It could be a case of not too much respect but he's probably to scared to touch you in case you don't like it.If he's really nice to you more than other girls that could be a sign, does he buy you stuff? nothing big maybe just little things, maybe he not interested or maybe he too scared to try anything, rejection is terrifying to a lot of guys. I was a wimp when it came to girls when i was younger and i wish i wasn't.
You might have to make the first move.

Too much time is wasted wondering.... Touch him - in a fun and flirting way - push him or rub his shoulders, - let him know...
We guys can be "thick" at times - my girlfreind tells me now she did all kinds of hints that I never saw....
What have you got to lose - one way or the other you will know how he feels....

If he smiles a lot...look for mirroring, which is if you sit cross legged, does he? He will unconciously mimic your behaviour. He will maintain eye contact. Most importantly, he will look at your face and not your b00bs.
