Have family and friends dress up nicely and reserve a room at a nice resturant.
Have photo and albums from the wedding and a small wedding cake (ie grocery store bakery with a topper), maybe play favorite love music (still the one - shania twain is mine) from a CD and have the couple &/or kids reminiss about the marriage, then offer a toast to the next 25

Have a get together of family and friends at a nice outdoor park clubhouse or something. You could always try and get the families to try and get several pictures through the years that can be put together in a collage and the more of them the better! The theme should include a silver anniversary too, so don't forget that tradition of silver at the 25th year. You can have a good cookout or maybe buffet indoors. Also as a gift, you could have everyone contribute towards a gift of a weekend getaway! After 25 years the break to themselves would do them wonders. Good Luck! =)

When you go for finding out good/reputed caterers for arranging the food etc. ask them to give you ideas for the anniversary and they should be able to give you valuable tips and advice especially as they would have made arrangements for similar occassions in the past from the start to the finish.
