I dearly love garlic - seasoning with it, cooking with it, heck, I can even eat it RAW. But for days afterward, I can't shake the scent. Breath is the least of my problems. It stays on my hands, seems to seep from my pores, and, er, um, certain nether regions too. I've heard lemon or stainless steel will work for like my hands, but what about just coming through my skin and, um, er, nether regions? Please help! I can't bear to think of my life with no more garlic in it. Thanks!!

Many garlic lovers suffer from the same. We normally eliminate a lot of substances trhough the skin like minerals, water etc. Many people seem to eliminate garlic through skin too, especially the ones that eat great amounts of them.
In order to avoid this it is said that you should eat as much parsley as the garlic you eat. Parsley will avoid or lower the elimination of garlic substances trhough the skin, or at least lower the strong smell.
When eaten in quantity, garlic may be strongly evident in the diner's sweat and breath the following day. This is because garlic's strong smelling sulfur compounds are metabolized forming allyl methyl sulfide. Allyl methyl sulfide (AMS) cannot be digested and is passed into the blood. It is carried to the lungs and the skin where it is excreted. Since digestion takes several hours, and release of AMS several hours more, the effect of eating garlic may be present for a long time.

The well-known phenomenon of "garlic breath" is alleged to be alleviated by eating fresh parsley. This is, therefore, included in many garlic recipes, e.g. Pistou and Persillade. However, since garlic breath results mainly from digestive processes placing compounds such as AMS in the blood, and AMS is then released through the lungs over the course of many hours, eating parsley is at best a temporary fix. One way of accelerating the release of AMS from the body is the use of a sauna

I have not tested these methods personally, but here are also a few tips that may help you eat garlic and enjoy it without suffering so much.
1- If you still love raw garlic, you can try peeling it with a pair of latex gloves.
2- When peeling raw garlic, do a good amount so you can have enough stock for the next 4 or 5 days. It will keep its benefitial properties and flavor up to 4 or 5 days. Store in an airtight container inside fridge to keep it away from humidity which may damage it causing to tender or start spouting.
3- you can peel your garlic with your hands as usual but after that pass your hands along any stainless steel surface and wash them with warm water with lemmon juice mixed in it.
4- or you can try one of these:
-a- Take the garlic you need with the skin on, place them on a table and with a wide blade knife press a little on them like crushing them . this will cause the skin to break and you can take it away easily. then you can chop them without having to touch them.
-b- put garlic inside your oil bottle. This will give you a nice flavored oil for salads or any other preparation, and will soften the garlic. you can use the garlics after some time when they are tender but they wont have that strong smell that will stay in your hands and will get trhough your skin as usual.the oil containing the garlic must be refrigerated and used within one week
-c- when baking meats or any other meal, take advantage of your oven and place a garlic head wrapped in a aluminium foil. When it is tender, take it out of the oven, unwrap it a little like making a small chimmey and while still hot crush it with your hands in order to obtain a soft and sweet mashed garlic that you can later add to your plates. It lasts a week in the fridge inside airtight container.

I heard from a show on the food network that you can put some water on your hands and a little soap and rub your hands on the inside of your stainless steel sink or a stainless steel cooking utensil and it takes the smell of garlic and onions off your hands. You can rub a stainless steel spoon on your tongue to get the taste out of your mouth. I've tried it before and it does work!!!!
