I can't stand any of those inspirational, mushy quotations people put in yearbooks. Like, "To the world you may be just anyone, but to one person you might be the world." "Don't let life get you down because you never know who is falling in love with your smile." and the worst of all worst, the shoot for the moon one. They make me want to vomit.

When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too".
right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?
When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it
is. Why the heck would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people
do this? Who and where are they?
When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.
When people say "life is short". What the heck?? Life is the longest thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?

RE:
What is the most overused/cliche quote out there? Or quote that you just hate?
I would have to say "Shoot for the moon, and even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.", or "You laugh because I'm different. I laugh because you're all the same.".
Another quote that I just really dislike is "Make new friends, but keep the old. One is...

I hate it when quotes are short and "unmeaningful" like:
"Be yourself"
"It's your life, so do what you want"
"practice makes perfect"
"keep on trying"
"believe in yourself" it's like people can't make something else better.
But I think the overused ones would be "Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars!" by Lee Brown. I hate that one too - what if I was shooting for the moon and don't give a crap if I land among the stars because I want the moon? I think that one famous quote from Gandhi is also overused.

"Once saved always saved" is horrible, an excuse for people who believe in God to think they're free to sin with impunity. Songs are full of cliches and that drives me nuts. (There's a another cliche!) Correction: Cliches annoy me.

like mother, like daughter, the chip doesn't fall far from the block, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree- i hate all of these for the same reason, i will obviously pick up traits from those around especially during the formative years but i am my own person.
birds of a feather flock together for the same reason- i have an identity of my own.
a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush- not always true. sometimes the 2 in the bush is more valuable.

The saying "it's all good" is absolutely the stupidest thing I have ever heard. My brother heard someone say that and said he hated it and I about died laughing and then told him I hated it too!
The absolutely stupidest person I ever had the poor judgement to date used to say it all the time.
The other stupid one is from Neitzsche the German Philosopher "that which does not kill me, makes me stronger".
Really can I cut your legs off and make you stronger then?!

I HATE hearing "when life gives you a lemon, make lemonade." I HATE lemonade!
Another cliche is, "if your friends jumped off a cliff, would you do it too?" Of course I wouldn't!
