Yuk. It's really horrible. It gets stuck in your body fat, and up to 15% of it never leaves- so you're loaded with a weird chemical.
Sucralose (spelnda) is a synthetic chemical that was originally cooked up in a laboratory. Splenda bears more chemical similarity to DDT than it does to sugar.

The chemical process to make sucralose alters the chemical composition of the sugar so much that the type of sugar molecule does not occur in nature and therefore your body does not possess the ability to properly metabolize it. As a result of this "unique" biochemical make-up, Splenda is not digested or metabolized by the body, making it have "zero" calories.

It is not that Splenda is naturally zero calories. If your body had the capacity to metabolize it then it would no longer has zero calories.

I believe these people's fears are unbased. Splenda is just a sugar molecule that has had two/three of its sucrose(sugar) molecules replaced by chlorine molecules. BEFORE YOU FREAK OUT "chlorine" is NOT the same as what is in the pool! Sodium CHLORIDE is salt, it has chlorine molecules. Your body senses sweetness on the tongue, but your body does not recognize it as digestible, so it simply passes it out of your body. It has been tested numerous times and is considered safe.
