what kind of dog food are u feeding ur dog?
The cause of bad gas in a dog is digestive problems. Gas is due to the dog not digesting the food properly. A bit of plain yogurt in the food will help the digestion process. Also getting the dog off food with corn, soy and beet pulp would work wonders. If u have the dog on a low quality food from the grocery store, even the vet office will have a factor in the dogs coat. raw eggs in the food are debated among alot of people, but i always give my dogs raw eggs and never has hurt them.

Common problems with a dog's coat stem from diet low
in Omega Fatty Acids or an insufficient ability to
absorb essential nutrients. A dull coat on the outside means an ill pet on the inside.

Forget the eggs. I would go for drizzling some cold pressed flax seed oil or olive oil on his food. I get mine from the natural food section of my regular grocery store. It will be refrigerated. Also make sure the food you are feeding is a good quality food and not from grocery store. Look for a food high in omega 3 fatty acids. Try a little plain yogurt for gas. Look for yogurt with active cultures in it. When I adopted my greyhound he was just off the track and had awful dry skin(and gas that could take the paint off the walls), thin coat and some bald spots. I added cold pressed flax seed oil to his food and after awhile his coat started to look great. He even grew hair on his belly which doesn't always happen to dogs that have been at the track so long.

Never give a dog raw eggs. A vet told me this once, it won't kill the dog, but the eggs contain an enzyme that is harmful to the dogs digestive system some how. Cook them first and u r ok. Are you sure its the egg that gives the dog gas? Are you giving him milk or something else that could be the cause? Also, if all you want is a shiny coat forget the eggs and either buy a supplement at the pet store or do as I do and add a little of the grease left behind when I fry bacon, chicken or beef to his dry food. Shinny coat! Happy Dog!

Check the levels of Omega 3 and 6/Linoleic Acid in your dog's food. I have a Bloodhound who was very itchy when I first got her, but as long as I feed her something higher than 3% in Linoleic Acid she is fine. She went from scratching until she bled to a shiny healthy coat in a couple of weeks. Nutro Natural Choice Lamb and Rice is very good for itchy dogs, and reasonably priced. Nutro Ultra, Canidae and Chicken Soup are also very good. I used a supplement too, Farnham Super 14, which is great for the dogs, and has a satisfaction guarantee. They both have beautiful soft shiny coats. It is an equine supplement that can also be used in cats and dogs. A tub of it lasts forever, i've had mine a year.

As a basic rule, please never give your pet food that humans eat. It may be hard to resist those adorable sad eyes when begging however it doesn't suit the stomachs of domesticated animals. If your dog has bad skin, you might want to go to the vets for more help with the issue. Dry itchy skin could mean the dog has allergies or dermitits. It could also be caused by using human shampoo and conditioner while bathing.Always use dog shampoos as the chemicals are not as strong as we use for our hair. There are also "sauces" that your veterinarian can sell you that are rather cheap (ours was less than $10 and lastest over a year) that can be placed over a dogs' food. It contains many vitamins that are healthy for dogs such as Omega 3 and 6. But remember don't give your dog human medicine either. Talk to your vet, that is your best bet. As for the bad gas, try not to feed your pet any human food, it will make the gas problems worse. If after not feeding your dog human food for two weeks and the problem is still there, talk to your vet about the issue.
