I mean would the lower pressure in the cargo compartment cause them to pop and make a mess inside your suitcase?

Not all KINDS of sodas are available everywhere. And now there are all kinds of restrictions on taking liquids in your carry-on.

Don't ! The change of pressure will make them explode, cause not only a mess, but a massive "bang". The pilot will think there's terrorists on board, divert the plane, and you'll reach your destination a month later. You'll be in hospital all that time, after the other passengers find out what you done, and proceed to beat you up for ruining their holidays.

You absolutely cannt carry it in your carry on. Liquids in your carry on luggage are restriced to 3.4 oz or smaller. However you can carry it in your checked luggage. You may want to notify your airline first that your luggage is fragile, otherwise you could end up with some wet clothes, and without your luggage. If they baggage handlers find your luggage to be "dripping", chances are it will not be travelling with you.

Yes....physically they can. The cabin of the plane and baggage compartment never get depressurized any more than an equivalent of 8,000 feet.
People pack cans of hairspray, shaving cream, etc. without issue.
However, soda cans are not as sturdy and would pose a higher risk of getting crushed/punctured if not adequately protected in your luggage.

New airline regulations for the EU (Nov 6, 2006) say that NO FLUIDS are allowed in handluggage, exept for a minimal dose of cosmetics and medication (100mg per liquid). You may want to check what the newest regulations on this are in your country (you did not say. US?) Call your travel agent or the airline company, am sure they can inform you. However, you do get drinks on board of the plane.......... Have a nice trip!

Most likely, the baggage compartment is unpressurized and the pressure inside the can is slightly above atmospheric pressure. I wouldn't do it. The airlines would get very excited to see cans/canisters inside luggage. They could be used for other things if you get my drift, another reason to not do it.

im pretty sure that u can carry them on the plane, but only in ur carryon, im pretty sure the pressure would make them explode
id check the rules 4 flying on ur airlines website 2 make sure

Personally, I would not carry soda in my luggage. Why would you want to do this, soft drinks are available everywhere.

You aren't supposed to but the plane is pressurized and they do serve you drink's from can's
