If so, did your child grow up to be a lefty or righty? My fiance and I are both left handed and we have a 4 and half mo old son. We realize that he could be either handed when he grows up but just curious as to what others have experienced. Thanks!

Both my hasband and I are left handed and so far all 3 of our kids are righties. Our 3yo switches between the two, but he seems to favor his right hand. I like to encourage his lefty-ness more by having him do things left handed occasionally, but I don't press it.
I figure he will be what he is supposed to be.

It's go nothing to do with family or anything. Im left handed, both my parents a right handed, and so are my siblings, actually the only other person in my my family, that Im aware of who's left handed, is my cousin. and her parents and siblings are all right handed too. It doesn't have anything to do with genes, it just kinda happens. lol

both my parents are lefties. My brother is left, but I'm a righty. I still to this day am only comfortable using left handed scissors, because that's what we had. Wierd. :)

Right now my son is and will probably be left handed. My husband and I are both right handed. My son is going to be 2 in less then a month. I don't think it really matters if you and your husband are right or left handed, it is whatever they are more comfortable with.

my dad and uncle are lefties, mom 3 brothers , and sister right handed, my moms sister leftie, i'm a leftie 4 of my children are right handed not sure about my little girl, i hope shes a leftie, its luck of the draw

my parents are both right handed and my brother and I are both lefties, weird huh. Every child is different and he should start to favor one or the other soon

this is interesting how my family works.. my mom and her two sibling are all right handed.. all of their children (all 5 of them) are LEFT handed. So far, all of our children (7 of them (ones too young to tell yet)) are RIGHT handed. it seems so strange but it seems to be every other generation in my family! i dont know if there is honestly anything to this, i'd be curious to know.
