I was not sure what type of answer you wanted for the question, but anything is a good wedding cake decoration as long as your happy with it. I have a friend who bakes wedding cakes, and she gets all kinds of requests. It doesn't have to be roses or ruffles, she make a coy fish last week, that's what the couple wanted.

Mine was a very simple cake. It was two layers with edible ribbon around each layer and a monogram as the cake topper. All yopu have to do is surf the internet for wedding cakes and see what pops up just to get an idea of what is out there. Then talk to your confectioner and see what they can do and what u would like.
Good luck!

We had a basket-weave patterned cake with scallops (looked like pieces of fabric hanging over the basket-weave). On each tier there were a few fresh flowers that matched our bouquets, and a larger bouquet of fresh flowers as the cake topper.

Fresh Flowers are beautiful and greenery. Maybe some Ivy or magnolia leaves. Florists will decorate it for you after the cake lady sets it up. :-)

the position are you placed? verify your community bakery.they in many cases lease out the fountain, and the cake cost might want to count number extra often than not on the quantity of human beings you want to serve, and how intricate the ornament. In my area, wedding ceremony truffles start up at $4.- a serving.

flowers are always good, but if you have something that you like in particular go to the craft store and see if you can make or but it, just make it your own
