I have had so much work done on my mouth I joke with my dentist about bringing a cot and sleeping in back !! All my teeth that have had work..ie crowns, root canals are way more sensitive than they used to be. I find hot & cold alike to bother my teeth. I have to drink through a straw or have drinks at room temperature. I also have problems with anything sweet. My dentist, who is absolutely fantastic, says this is normal and will take a lot of time, if not ever to get better.

You can get some thing over the counter that numbs painfull teeth, but it's only temporary. You will probably have to go back to the dentist. I am amazed that the dentist didn't do something for you at the time.
