Or petitions out there for investigations on the this drugs side effects?? This med is storing in your fat cells and slowy or some cases fast...killing people. My 37yr old brother just died on Jan 17 2007 from an accidental overdoes of this medication. The coroner and medical examiner told us that it stores in a persons fats cells and only a small percentage will pass through your body and the rest just stays there. Being that it eventually kills you. I have not had one doctor tell me this in the almost 4 years of taking this for a broken spine. Anyone out there?? Know of anything to help change this??

Your question is not a new one see:

I really don't see how it could get stored in a fat cell though. I know the chemical structure of methadone and the structure of fats and the two do not seem like the things that would naturally mix. - BUT - I'm not 100% positively, there is credibility to you're claim, and the cliams of others.

Are you sure that the death was caused by an overdose? Or was it from severe withdrawl?

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but there are others out there that are looking too, so you should be able to find some help. Good luck!

I will be most interested in seeing any good answers to your question...my step-son died almost 2 years ago, from methadone...he vomited and choked to death in his sleep. It was ruled a "suicide", however, we firmly believe this was accidental and the methadone kept him from waking up while he was choking....there is got to be something that can be done...I, for one, am in your corner....
