I have started a new small business and am the only employee. I don't know very much about accounting so it would have to be pretty straight forward and easy to use so that I can learn it quickly.

In your opinion which accounting software would be best and why?

a. Quickbooks (if so, which version)
b. Quicken
c. PeachTree
d. Or other (please make a suggestion)

Your answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Quicken is good if it is a really small business. I'd recomend Quickbooks Pro. It's very versitile and will grow with your business. Also, the tax feature helps the tax accounts, like me, at year end to prepare your taxes.
Most cities have support groups where you can go and learn the best way to set up your program.
I worked at a nonprofit with $30,000,000 in gifts annually and we had no problems with Quickbooks pro. I do books for a couple of small businesses with less than $100,000 in revenue and it works nicely.

Don't think you can beat MS Excel. Suggest you go to www.amazon.com.
On the left side is a link for books, then used books.

Check them out. I have purchased many books here at very low prices and all I have received so far are in like new condition.
