1994 Chrysler LeBaron convertible 105,000 miles on it and it costs $2,400 from a private seller

kinda want to know if there is anything major that would need replacing and if it will be dependable to drive just around town to college, and to work. Is this a reasonable price for this vehicle?

They have a wealth of information and at autotrader.com you can do comparison shopping to see if $2400.00 is the average asking price.

Really neat, easy, and FAST.

Based on the information given, the 105,000 is considered low mileage for a car that old. The $2400 is slightly below average retail if the car has a clean record. My biggest concern would be the condition of the top and if any mechanical reccords were kept on this vehicle. Bear in mind also that it isn't an economy car for gas mileage and if my memory serves me correctly it is pre-124A freon. This would make a huge difference in air conditioner repair costs. Drive it and listen for out of the ordinary sounds and see how it feels, check the tires for abnormal wear and most importantly be happy with any decision you make. Anything can go wrong at any time but an educated decision that only you can make seeing the car is your best answer. One plus is buying it from a private owner who can give you more history pertaining to the cars performance. Good luck on your decision!

Chrysler trannies are usually good up to 150 to 180 thousand miles. They fail right around that time. My roommate in college had a LeBaron convertible and had that happen.

Chryslers are also notorious for blowing head gaskets. I blew two in my 1996 Neon. I finally got rid of it last year.

For a '94 105k is relatively low mileage. However anything above 100k will start giving you problems fairly fast in the cv joints, brakes, spark plugs, wires, distributor (if not EFI). Take it to a mechanic you trust and pay the $100 or so to get it checked. It may save you thousands down the road.

You might also want to view carfax.xom, and check something about the car. It may been in a major accident that you may not know about.

Take a mechanic with you and see what all is wrong with it, have them decide if it's worth the money or not =)
