Once information of any kind is recorded on a CD-R, it cannot be changed in any way, so you cannot erase/delete it from the disc. CD-Rs can't be erased and used over again the way a CD-RW can be (the "R" stands for "Recordable," while the "RW" stands for "ReWritable"). So the only way to get rid of the information on you CD-R disc is to literally "get rid of it"--you would have to destroy the disc itself.

If you want to erase a CD-R because you want to get rid of all of the information on it so that it cannot be read - the only way I know of is to take a hammer to it and break it into a millon pieces. Once the data is written to it, it is permanent. Even if you were able to find a program to "erase" the disk all that it would probably do is mark the index file, the data itself would still be there.

there's a few things you can do. You could take a very strong magnet or a demagnetizer to it. You could throw it in the microwave on high for a few minutes and watch the light show. Or, you could break it up into little pieces. Either way, since it's a CD-R disc, all you can do is corrupt the info on it. If you want to erase it and reuse it.... you can't.

Sorry, that's no longer accessible. A CD-R disc is recordable basically as quickly as and can't be erased. in case you opt to erase your song, p.c.., or different documents, then you definately ought to placed it on a CR-RW, that's re-writeable infinite situations over. Sorry mate, yet those are the info.

Umm...since its a CD-R (Cd- recordable) you cant rewrite data over it. It's technically "dead" in regular language. It's possible to rewrite data onto a CD-RW ( Rewritable) but not on a CD-R.

CD-R is for Compact Disk-Recordable. You can not rewrite this one. If it were a RW you could. It would be a ReWritable disk.

you will not be able to delete data from a disk unless it is a CD-RW.
