Depending on the poll, 70-80% of all Americans are against illegal immigration.

Do you think that the ACLU's support of illegal immigration is showing Americans what they are really all about?

Some fascinating info in the answers on the site, things I have been unaware of and wondering about.
I have always found ACLU to be questionable in its' pervue and function and now I know why.

My take on much of what our government gives money to (they give a lot to ACLU) should be reviewed. Policies or agendas that are actively AGAINST some or even all of law abiding Americans it makes no sense to support. To support illegalism by some and legalism by others makes me gag.
Along with the ACLU which is marginal at best, we should remove funds to actively racist groups like LaRaza and MECHA and some others (equivilent of KKK Hispanic style). These groups recieve millions of Amer. Tax dollars yearly mostly through schools (Univ. Collegs under minority group grants) and they use this money to undermine the freedom of our country and instigate racism and beneficiality to their own Latin culture. This is done with the experessed understanding that they are better than or superior to anyone who is not Hispanic. Shouldn't be AMer. tax payer dollars supporting this. You can bet the Mexican March early last year, was directed and encourage by these kinds of groups. Foolish for us to support them and in the end, endangering America and Americans.

Not really. I mean they are all lawyers and u think that they have credibility?lol your funny. But on the other note I don't know if they are loosing credibility or not because they tend to defend different cases though right now the only times you seem to hear about them is in regards to the immigration debate.Yet just like with the minutemen project the ACLU has its own supporters who stand firmly by them and yes some of them are Americans too.So just depends whom you ask.Either way they seem to be making a pretty penny out of all the ordinances against illegals and I suppose that's what counts to them more. All about the money.

The ACLE lost credibility with me when they supported NAMBLA (the North American Man Boy Love Association - pedophiles).
They seem to land on the wrong side of almost every issue. So if they are supporting illegal immigrants, I am not surprised. They should put their beliefs into action and take them into their homes and care for them. Will they do that? Nope.

I am constantly disgusted with the ACLU, and CANNOT believe that our government gives them funding. That is one of the biggest injustices I currently know of. They don't speak for America, but I will say that they are probably the organization that is the best at promoting their agenda and raising funds. They are incredibly strategic. Also, with such a misleading name, people's initial reaction to the name is that they must be a very positive organization.

, Yes , they were an organization started to help the American People get Justice . Where is the justice in what they are doing now .
These are not American Citizens and have broken American Laws .
The ACLU is totally misguided and harming Americans on this one . We should let them know how we stand on this .
We should let the Unions know too , that they are on the wrong side , this time

Words from the ACLU's founder, Roger Baldwin:

Reflecting on his early years as the ACLU's Executive Director, Baldwin candidly revealed his original motives and objectives. "I am for socialism, disarmament, and ultimately, for abolishing the state itself as an instrument of violence and compulsion," he stated. "I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the properties class, and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal. It all sums up into one single purpose -- the abolition of dog-eat-dog under which we live. I don't regret being part of the communist tactic. I knew what I was doing. I was not an innocent liberal. I wanted what the communists wanted and I traveled the United Front road to get it."

Key Tenet: Communism is the goal. This is what they have ALWAYS been about. The destruction of the United Statesas we know it. Nothing new here.

ACLU at one time performed an important function, standing up for the constitution, no matter the cause

However, by attempting to suppress the free speech rights of the Minutemen, who were obeying all laws, they have lost all credibility

They are almost always on the wrong side of issues. I don't think their support of the illegal alien criminals is anything new. I think their support of these criminals is further evidence that they are out of touch with what American believe.
