If a college instructor and one of his/her students start to like each other, how long after the class ends should they wait before starting to date so that there's no conflict of interest or other appearance of impropriety?

Is the person the "prof" is dating completely out of school? If so then I'd say OK. I personally don't think it's right if the person is still a student at the school just not in the class anymore. The "Prof" would be putting him or herself in a bad situation.

It all depends, really.

Personally, I think there is too much of a conflict of interest. Let's say professor is dating student, student returns to visit him/ her once in a while, someone notices and begins discrediting this professor.

Then, was it all worth it? Plus it just seems weird....teachers/professors are put in a position to lead....not pick out dates from their pupils.

Now if the student is an older student (for example...professor is 45 and the student is about 30 or so) than all of the above doesn't matter.

But if not, consider what you may be getting yourself in to here.

Immediately.

Who the **** cares. Obviously your a ******* genius if you only are interested in dating your professor. Therefore your likely getting an A anyways.

Oh by the way, make damn sure your right, otherwise if the relationship goes bad, look at kissing your education goodbye
