Thanks for your answers, just wanted to add that my dress is ivory. Tables are white w/chocoate table runner. Any ideas for the decorations beyond that. Considering red & orange petals for the isle at the ceremony instead of an isle runner.

Red would be too overbearing. go with a mixture of orange and yellow.

I'm doing an early fall wedding as well, and I'm using chocolate, brick red, and copper. Red, orange or yellow (think brick, pumpkin, or a rich harvest-y gold) would work very well, but you should probably avoid putting them all together.
A good way to balance things is to pick a base color (in your case, chocolate, a very chic choice btw) and an accent color-this could be any of the colors you're thinking of, or something unexpected and sophisticated, such as pale pink or pale robin's egg blue (the blue looks very very stunning and unexpected with chocolate). To add a little variety, you could also choose a metallic. With pale pink or blue, silver or a shimmery cream would be nice. For the other colors you're thinking of, bronze, copper, or gold would be very rich and autumnal.
Also, instead of limiting yourself to specific colors, you could just use fall colors. This definitely opens up your options color-wise. Nature is a great designer!
I would highly recommend going to a paint or hardware store and looking at those paper paint swatches. Every single color you could ever want is right there, and they're easy to put together. Once you find some color combos you like, take several samples of each swatch so that you can give them to anyone who may be helping you plan your wedding. You can also bring them when shopping for wedding party clothes and ordering your cake.

I think a pale pink in terms of flowers would be nice with some white orchids. Or orange roses would be nice too, more towards the coral orange color. I'm planning a birthday party right now and the colors are sage green and chocolate brown. We are having orchids on every table with a beautiful antique candle holder. We are folding the green napkins and tying a chocolate ribbon around it to tie everything together. Good luck, it sounds beautiful!

I think that would be georgeous. May I make a suggestion of flowers? One of my fave roses ever would be PERFECT for what you are talking about doing. They are called circus roses, and are yellow with a red-orange colored tip. They open up BEAUTIFULLY, seriously, the best I've ever seen and I worked at a florist for 2 years so Ive seen lots of rose varieties! I think a bunch of those mixed in with greenery would be amazing looking against your chocolate dresses, and pop so pretty off your white colored one! You could also mix other things with them in the red orange yellow family, but I think they would stand alone just fine! You could also add wheat in with the bouquets for a more fall look, and possibly tie them with rafia, super cute! but if you can get a florist to get those circus roses in so you can see in person just how pretty they are, you would love them Im sure! Hope this helps!

September is a versitle month to get married in..the weather is beautiful and you can go either way with colors. Since the dress is chocolate...maybe brown and pink. Like a bouquet of pink roses or orange orchids mixed with some yellow roses.

I don't think the red, but the orange and yellow would be nice. Regardless of the season, go with colors you love. My favorite color is hot pink and I'm getting married March 31st. It wouldn't have mattered if the wedding was December 18th...I want to be surrounded with what makes me happy and I suggest the same for you!

Pale pink would be lovely. I would choose orange over yellow or red. What about spider lillies? They are a naturally blooming flower for that time of year.

How about pink carnations or roses? Pink and Chocolate is such a hot color right now and also lime green. I notice that AVON and JC Penney is selling a nice new collection of jewelry pieces with the chocolate and pink designs. Best of Luck to you!

Chocolate brown is a fabulous color. Along with what you have already picked out add a few ivory calla lillies, especially if your dress is ivory. You can't go wrong in September with any colors you choose.

In the spring you expect pastels. In the winter you expect deep rich , icy, or sparkly colors.
The month of September doesn't lock you into any specific colors. It's not summer, it's not autumn. I think you could have just about any colors you want. Those colors you've chosen would look good with the chocolate brown.

Those colors are great w/ brown. I would just go for "burnt" versions of those colors. They are deeper and not so overpowering as the primary versions of those colors. I would just go easy on the yellow...it's a really strong color. For the bouquets I would do smaller, tight arrangements of those colors w/ the stems wrapped in brown fabric.
