Someone sent this to my daughter and now she wants me to explain to her why it is this way how do I properly?
You call me "Cracker", "Honkey", "Whitey", "Gringo" and you think it's OK.
But when if I call you Kike, porch monkey, sand ni**er, rag head ,Towelhead, WOP, Camel Jockey, ****, slant eyes, yellowskinned, blackie or Chink you call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United ***** College Fund.
You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month.
You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah
You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi
You have the NAACP.
You have BET.
You have the NCAA.
If we had WET(white entertainment television) ...we'd be racist.
If we had a White Pride Day... you would call us racist.
If we had white history month... we'd be racist.
If we had an organization for only whites to "advance" our lives... we'd be racist.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships...you know we'd be racist.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights...you would call us racist.
Did you know that some high school students decided to make a club for only the white students because the other ethnicities had them... they all got sent to court for being racist but the african-american, Latino, and Asia clubs were not even questioned.
-You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
I am white.
I am proud.
But, you call me a racist.
Why is it that only whites can be racists?
Now watch, I'll be a racist for posting this

Oh dear, how old is your daughter? I would be upset if my kids read something like this too. This is one war that has been going on too long if you ask me. We are all here, we all bleed the same color, let's put this stuff aside, no matter what race we are.
If i had to explain it to my child i would tell them that God made everybody different, some differences are more noticable than others, but God loves us all nonetheless and to pray for these people that their heart and their eyes will be opened.
Just for the record, i am white.

There is a lot of truth to that. I don't think that any school club, contest or scholarship should be based solely on race. It is unfair. I also don't believe that whites have cornered the market on racism. I absolutely do not consider myself a racist. I believe that everyone is created equally. However, if your child is old enough to read this, chances are they are old enough to understand what this person is saying. They can also form their own opinion. Teach your child love and tolerance for everyone. They will have to figure out the rest on their own, based on their own experiences.
Forever Young - Have you been to a classroom recently? History is history, blacks played an integral part of American History as did the Native Americans, Asians, Latinos and Whites. No, it was not always that way, but things are changing for the better. Look around, the only people still preaching who did what to whom back in the day are the adults. The children are fine with one another, lets leave it that way. We are not responsible for the sins of our fathers!

I had a similar discussion the other day and I have to agree. Race needs to be taken out of the equation altogether. I also think the double standard should definately stop. I have been a victim of racism (I am white) and for me it wasn't that big of a deal BUT I know how big of a deal it would have been had it been the other way around.
I was doing hair for a glamour photography company and had been for years and an african american woman threw a fit and refused to let us touch her, demanded her money back and declared "I'll be damned if I am gonna let these cracker *** ******* touch my hair!!" If anyone of us had done something similar it would have been viewed as a lot worse. I was incredibly embarrassed. There was a whole room FULL of people.
The point is, it is not okay to call anyone names. And its not ok to have a double standard either. You would think that by now we would have come a lot farther than this, and racism would be a subject for the history books and not the evening news.

I would give your daughter a history lesson about slavery and jim crow...then I would explain how the school system teach from books that only teach about white history, and a have a chapter for black history month, like black people didn't exist or participate in anything else.
Basically every day is white day....all you learn in school is white history, nothing on television but white people, only recently do you see more shows like george lopez but they come and go and do not last nearly as long as the white sitcoms. but most television is catered to white people b/c that's who own the stations, those are the producers, executives etc. the only place for white people to advance is to being God, they try but not possible...you have more privilege than any other group b/c america has been established that way, blacks, latinos have to fight hard to get anywhere. You still have your golf clubs, communities that keep minoirties out, might let one in just for appearances but now days sometimes won't even do that. I don't know what injustices you suffer what rights are lacking for white people and I really don't know what white people as a whole have to be proud of. starting wars, enslaving africans and treating them inhumanely, lynching african americans, enron...
I don't think all white people are racist but anyone who thinks the way your questions says is ignorant to the history of america and the fact that generations do pay for the sins of their fathers and that some things are so engrained that it never dies it just changes form.

Just let your daughter know that she needs to think before she speaks. Some people take things the wrong way, when you mean nothing by it.
An example, my sister's best friend is black. He's like a brother and a son to our family. But he eats only health food, loves fruit. SO, one day I was eating watermelon and I knew he was coming over. So I saved some for him. When he came in the house I told him I'd saved some of my watermelon for him. He asked me if I was racist. (with a smile on his face) But I had NO idea why he would say that. I still have no clue. But I was just trying to be nice, and if he didn't know me as well as he does, I would be called a racist and ignorant because I "just don't understand". And I don't. But I'm not ignorant or racist. I am who I am. Sometimes I think people look for racist things when there is no malice intended. I am white by the way.

That is sad your daughter got that letter. Why does it matter what race a person is? Nobody has the right to call blacks the ''N'' word nobody has the right to call chinese people chink nobody has the right to call mexicans spics and nobody should have the right to call white people honkey or cracker. We all bleed the same color and we are all human with feelings. It is really sad how people can say all these names to each other. Everyone is loved no matter what color their skin is. By the way i am white.

I would just say that everyone is different. she probably can see that everyone is not the same color if she is able to read this, so she knows that all people are not the same. Explain that it was that persons point of view on things and how she may run into things like this again in the future.

some of this is true. now on a group for white advancement and similair things is offensive. white people in this country are able to advance and they are pre-judged in a positive light.
now having a white club in school is fine- I'd call it a European Heritage (and somehow we have to include iceland, greenland, and similair places).
loving your race does not make you racist.
(I'm irish, polish, french, english, and part canadian even though my family has lived in the US for generations)

Teach your child tolerance. This world has gone into a new entity. I had to re-submit my pyschology paper because I was told to follow the format of our fourfathers. I put my own input and I did not think it was fair to see it from their standards.
i also agree with number 2.

maximum people are lifelike and under no circumstances racists; and that i recognize i'm African American, yet i do not % out with maximum black people as an entire both; although, i recognize properly sufficient that there are those who will % out me as a black American and discriminate adverse to me because of it. Your chum may be somewhat too blase. i ought to assert it is sweet- yet per chance he must have his radar as a lot as %. out the racist jerks from the traditional people. Edit: those racists would properly be of any ethnicity, no longer only of ecu ancestry - i have met various of racist black individuals, and they would not like your pals concepts one bit.
