yes there are some things you can do at home . one get some ear drops otc from the drug store ask the pharmacist to get them for you. they dont cost much . in addition take some decongestants you will find them in the cold flu part of the drug store. take the tablet form.
use a hair dryer to blow warm air into your ear this will ease the pain and will help to dry the ear. doctors book of home remidies.
do not put things in your ears q tips big no no.
when you bath you can use some ear plugs to prevent the water from going in your ears but look for ones that seal more from the outside then inside.
gravol will calm your dizzy spells and tummy .
antihistamines with the decongestent are also good your choice
use the medications i mentioned along with the hair dryer and you may find you dont need to see the doctor.
just continue this all for about 4 days after all symtoms are gone
and never use q tips in your ears.

You need to go to the Dr! I also have hearing loss due to ear infections. In the meantime you can put 2 or 3 drops of warm sweet oil (found at pharmacy, over the counter) in your ears and stick a bit of cotton in your ear to keep the oil from seeping out. This will only help with the pain, will not cure the infection.

It is serious because of the severe earache and hearing loss it can create. Hearing loss, especially in children, may impair learning capacity and even delay speech development.

Otitis media is also serious because the infection can spread to nearby structures in the head, especially the mastoid. Thus, it is very important to recognize the symptoms (see list) of otitis media and to get immediate attention from your doctor.

Sounds like ear or sinus infection and you should see the doc. Left untreated it could lead to permanent hearing loss. I had fluid in my ears as a child that every treatment available was used and they couldn't get rid of it so I suffer permanent hearing loss so go it checked please.
