I've heard of it - it's when they come to take your blood pressure it shoots up while the doctor is in the room, but if your in CVS or SAVON and use one of those machines - you bp is normal - what kind of Doctor are you?

I would tell your Doctor straight up, that you have White Coat Syndrome, and let him take your bp - if he doesn't let you get into the test program then it's not for you - but you shouldn't take lorazapam to lower your bp before the test - because they will see it if they do blood work and disqualify you for not telling the truth on your application (about the drugs you had taken).

Just be honest about the problem - I have it too - I now take a bp medicine and it is GONE - it's not a anti-anxiety so they are not to answer to your problem!

What is white coat hypertension. In 43 years of practice I have never heard the term. Unless they are doing a drug screen, Ativan would not show on a clinical blood test.

I agree, you do NOT want to be involved in a clinical trail unless you can handle all that may go with it (and it usually invloves moe than just a blood draw..it could be quite a few along with other tests), and if Dr's make you nervous, then you need to stay home. You will indeed, be wasting everyone's time and money...most likely you will not be allowed to participate...but, save everyone the grief...yourself included. This is not for you.
