i used to have an is300...and i would recommend saving up or waiting for an is250 or 350. I bought a is350 and havent regretted it for a second. I look forward to driving it every day. My wife thinks i love it more than her...she might be right :) Anyway, at the end of this year i bet you'll be able to find a used is250 for around 25-30k, if not cheaper...i'd wait for one of those, the interior is so much nicer, as well as the exterior. Its a vastly superior car, be patient, wait!

I got a 2003 Lexus IS 300. I seen those cars do serious damage to Evo's, STI's....if hooked right that is. It's all really about how much you love & know the car. And to answer, all the questions over there you really don't have to be rich to afford these things just about anyone can. It's all about how PATIENT you are in doing so. Just do little things first and become friends with a lot of Toyota people even people that own IS 300's and you might get your big break. I mean, it's nice to see a car like a Lexus compare to big cars, it does cost a little penny although it's worth the prices. Reason I didn't get an Evo or STI is because the IS is more cheaper, and i'll have more fun making it a beast. I like to be different since not a lot of people own IS 300's around where I live and if they do they are all automatics. So I like to prove all the Evo and STI boys wrong when a Supra (Really good tuned IS 300) shows up to race.

I work at a Lexus dealership in the southern US and there are a decent amount of IS300s on the road. They are reliable (as are nearly all Lexus models), fun to drive and good looking. If I were pursuing one I would aim a a vehicle that was returned at the end of lease (this should not be hard to do since they produced the vehicle from 01-05). There are some vehicles out there with cloth interiors and I would stay away from them, it doesn't look good. Depending on your location you may not see many IS300's. I am originally from NE Pennsylvania where these cars are unseen by and large. The only reason I can see is that they are rear wheel drive. If you are looking for a car to be unique they did make an IS300 Sportdesign edition. It was available as an automatic or a 5-speed and was a dark gray (flint?) color with a very light gray and black two-tone interior. These are uncommon, but not unheard of. The most rare and unique my experience, it the IS300 Sportwagon. It was produced in small numbers and is a sporty five door "wagon" (but not in the station wagon sense). We only see 1 or 2 of these in 3-4 months. (In a city of 500,000+). .All in all, it is a fun reliable car to drive and I can't say anything bad about it. It is one of my more favorite Lexus models and I would buy one myself. One recommendation though, don't buy one in the wretched yellow color they offered for a short time.

Dude, you must buy the lexus is300, it is probably one of the finest cars lexus have built! Although it might not be the fastest or have a whole bunch of torque, the car feels very agile and nimble/responsive for a 4 door sedan, it is one of the best car that i have ever driven, and if you want too, the possibility of upgrading the car is endless, keep in mind the is300 comes with the same inline 6 that the toyota supra came with, who knows, you might want to drop a toyota supra twin turbo in it? lols, that if you can find that engine. But the reason the IS is rare, is because, lexus didn't manufacture lots of these car, they did make alot, but not as much as the ES or so! But definately a very good car! Good luck with your decision!

There are many of them depending on where you live, I live in Los Angeles, California and there are many tuner versions of that car [meaning highly customized car and something that street racers race with]
My suggestion would be yes you should buy it this car has the looks of a luxury/sports car an interior that is luxury/sport and performance that is extreme
-----By the way do not get a Lincoln LS like the person above said they must not be experienced in cars, they compared a IS300 to a LS from Lincoln witch is the stupidest thing I have ever seen - The IS300 tops that car with no problem at all

You must be blind or something. They are driving around all the time, all over, see them daily.
Sold back to the dealers? Are you on crack? These are one of the hottest cars to own and its VERY had to own one as few will give them up.
The only thing wrong with them is that there aren't enough of them out there for all who wants one. That is why you don't see them on car lots, etc...not that they are bad...its that no one is giving them up.
Just look on youtube alone at all the IS videos and the stuff people have done to them. If the IS was bad...Lexus wouldn't of remade the car into its current package.

It is a good choice for choosing IS 300. But don't expect it will give u any surprise for the engine torgue or comfort, it just can statisfied you for the quality.
Probabaly the new IS 250 or 350 may be a better choice.

I had a 2003, I have traded it since. I loved the car, the only problem for me is my insurance was higher than with other cars, and I had a perfect record. The only cars I will EVER own are toyota and lexus. Good luck!!

No, get a used Lincoln LS instead. The LS tops it in every category from performance to handing to ride to safety to comfort. Check it out for yourself.
