My husband of 3 years is 27 and an incredible man in every way. He's been through hell in his short life and now he's been diagnosed with an agressive form of cancer. Why would God want to put someone through so much?I love him more than life itself and this last tragedy has made me lose faith.I feel so helpless and scared and just don't feel like God cares anymore. Why would God do this to my husband now?

First, God does care. He mourns with you and He is conciencous of you. Some things in life are so hard and so sad, but He is there. God allows really bad things to happen to good people and it doesn't seem fair. Sometimes it's because the good people have made bad choices and the bad thing is a natural consequence. Sometimes it's to allow people the chance to hurt and feel sad. This sounds crazy, but being sad is not a bad thing. Without being sad, a person can never know what it's like to feel happy. Some of the hard experiences we deal with help us empathize with other people so we can help them through their suffering. Don't go through this alone. There are people out there who can help you. And even though He is not going to come and write on your wall in Reformed Egyptian, God IS there for you. Contact your local chapter of the Cancer Society. Counsel with them too. My thoughts really go out to you. My father has cancer too. The other thing you really should do is
call 1-888-537-7700 and request the video Together Forever. It's amazing.

We are mere mortals. Our body deteriorates. Every one of us cannot boast even of tomorrow. Some people sleep and never wake up. What I'm saying is, we don't know when it's our time to go. We're like fish in the ocean, not knowing when a net will be cast down on us. Same goes with disease or death. No one's exempted from it. Remember, IT'S NOT HOW LONG WE LIVE, BUT HOW WE LIVE that's important. I was also diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and I've been cancer-free for 7years. I'm lucky to have been blessed by a loving husband who never gave up on me. There's hope. KEEP YOUR FAITH, NEVER WAIVER. God loves us.

First let me say I am so sorry for what you and your husband are going through. But you need to try and look at the positive things that have gone on in your life. Maybe God, knowing that your husband was going to die, brought him to you three years ago so that you could be his ROCK. Now is the time that you need your faith most. Remember God never gives us more then we can handle in life.

God isn't punishing you. Everyone's life is a separate story, and we all go through struggles and problems, and we all eventually have to go. Each story is different, and some are harder than others. And - we don't get to choose. We just need to deal with it the best we can. We can't know the mind of God in all of this. I wish you the best of luck.

Please don't give up on God what ever you do this is your only hope is trusting in God and he will see you through in whatever happens it may seem hard now. God did not put this affliction upon your husband this is a disease that may afflict anyone of us. Keep the faith and keep praying it may be Gods will to heal him. God is still working miracles.

God does not cause disease or any other bad thing and it is wrong of you to attribute these things to him. Sin and death and disease and suffering came into the world through Adam and immediately God provided a way out of it for all mankind who would accept the provision. Instead of bellyaching and feeling sorry for yourself, I suggest you seek some alternative medical advise ASAP. AND while you sit in waiting rooms and other places waiting for him, read your Bible. There is much hope and encouragement for both of you, regardless of the initial outcome of this terrible disease.

If it was Adam’s decision to disobey God that brought sin into the world, why do we ALL have to suffer punishment?
If we are honest with ourselves, we will realize that Adam is a fair representative for all of us. If a perfect person in a perfect place decided to disobey God’s rules, none of us would have done better. Romans 5:12 says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” We all inherit Adam’s sin nature. We all sin, so we all deserve to die and suffer eternal punishment in hell. We must understand that not one of us is innocent before God. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Not one of us is worthy to stand before the Creator of the universe because we would each bring a sinful, rebellious nature into His presence.
In the beginning God completely sustained His creation without blemish. That’s why it was perfect. He held every atom together in a perfect state. He kept the planets in their orbits. He kept animals from tripping and breaking their necks. He did not allow people to suffer and die.
Deuteronomy 8:4 gives us a little glimpse of how things might have been in the original creation. “Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.” God is omnipotent and perfectly capable of sustaining and protecting his creation.
When Adam sinned, however, the Lord cursed the universe. In essence there was a change and along with that change God seemingly took away a little bit of his sustaining power and allowed things like suffering and death into His creation. Now He permits bad things to happen—and this is a reminder that sin has consequences and that the world needs a Savior. Romans 8:22 says, “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.”

God took pleasure in all of His creation ("http://bible.gospelcom.net/bible?passage=revelation+4:11&version=NKJV"), but He loved people most of all. He allowed the created universe to deteriorate so we would see the consequences of our sin. If we did not see the consequences of our sin, we would never see that we need salvation from our sin, and we would never accept His offer of mercy for our sin. Most people easily recognize that there is a problem in the world. This can be used to show them that there is one who has overcome this problem of death and suffering—Jesus Christ.

You certainly have my sympathy. I'm hoping for the best possible outcome for you both. I don't believe god did this. I believe in cause and effect. Things happen because conditions became right for them to happen. Fight the good fight! Best of luck! Seriously.

Everyone has struggles for a reason, God is not trying to hurt you but trying to test you. God is not going to solve all of your problems for you, but teach you how to solve them on your own.
