That is the federal standard of weight lifting on jobs. Not all people are capable of it though. They are suppose to furnish back braces . Sometimes making you pay for them.
For instance a factory without air conditioning and lot's of heat can give you a headband cooler for a fee.

Lifting
The spine is a sensitive mechanism. Over time, improper lifting can cause irreversible damage that can lead to permanent injury.

I'm not sure if you are a girl. But if you are a guy the best way to get muscles without lifting weight is a lot of protein mixed with body resistance. You want to work on the basics like push ups, sit ups, wall sits, pull ups etc. Furthermore you will need take a lot of protein and stretch a lot in to help rebuild those muscles back. You will see good results in a matter of 2 to 3 weeks as long as you workout 30 minutes to an hour a day, guaranteed

Depends on the country you live in I suppose. I know in some labour jobs here in Canada I have never seen the job description say something like "must be able to lift 500 Lbs and one wet towel"

They usually say something like "must be able to life 40-50 pounds"

So...I'd assume 50 pounds is the weight limit...I guess.

As for your back brace...if you really need the support, then talk to your doctor. If you have insurance they WILL cover it. How do I know, cause I work for a group benefits firm, almost all plans cover braces and supports.
