Some people on this board are so unbelievably awful! The Islamic view of hell is called Jahannam. There are several levels(seven, I think). The Qu'ran doesn't give an exact time frame for how long a Muslim will spend in hell...only Allah knows and will judge each accordingly. So there is no way to tell how long a "good Muslim" will be in hell or what level they will be sent to. However, living a pious life and submitting to the will of Allah is how most Muslim's live anyway and will insure that they will either not go to hell or not go for long. I hope this helps.

If a muslim did evil and wrongful deeds during his life, and if these are more significant than his good deeds then he will go to hell. Being a muslim does not give you a passport to heaven.
It is a wrongly held belief by many muslims that they will all go to heaven no matter what. They think that even if they do go to hell, it will be only for a short while. This is not correct. I would urge them to read the Quran once again, where it is clearly mentioned that if someone goes to Hell, he will remain there for eternity.

A good Muslim that doesn't do anything that the Qur'an says not to do, will go to hell forever. Whatever you do, pray more than 5 times a day or anything else, you will always go to hell if you are muslim. A good Muslim or a bad Muslim will both go to hell because muslim is the wrong religion. The only way to go to heaven is if you are a christian and believe as christ your savior. And for muslims, what type of God would let you kill for your religion. Christianity vs. Muslim, is like saying heaven vs. hell.

A muslim Can be good, though under very very exceptional circumstances.
He need not / does not go to hell, just as any good human being following any religion.

It depends on the crime he committed.
There was a woman in Muhammad's(s.a.w.) time, who she locked her pet cat in a room for, days, and days, without feeding it,or allowing him free to eat the insects of the Earth. She was a Muslim woman who prayed all the time, fasted, voluntarily, and involuntarily, and always made sacrifices.Allah(swt) sent her to Hell for 80 years for her crime, and we do not know if Allah,Al-Rahim,took her out early,or,gave her another sentence.Animal cruelty is a serious crime in Islam, and a Muslim who does it purposely, can go to Hell.Cats and Birds, are favored in Muslim countries.

According to islamic scripture allah calls himself "The Great Deceiver", yet muslims still believe the false promises of their religion. The best liars always spin enough threads of truth into their web of lies to make the lies believable, and their allah is possibly the best liar ever.
When allah, the great deceiver, tells muslims they will go to hell this is a thread of truth in the web of lies that is islam, and this web will entrap them in hell forever and there will be no escape.

I didn't know there was a hell in any religion. That's just wrong! We live in hell and go to the other side with God and be grateful we made it to the heavens and don't want to go back.

The joke is on them. They are taught that they go to hell and then get out, but they really are stuck there forever because they rejected the salvation that can only be had through accepting Jesus as their savior and rejecting false prophets like muhammad.

From what I have gathered they believe (similar to some christians) that they body stays in the ground until the end of days when Allah raises everyone and then i'm not sure what happens I think you get judged and if you were a good mulim you go straight to heaven.
