I remember during my exercise physiology and nutrition classes that you should wake up, urinate, and then weigh yourself, before you eat or drink anything. I also understand that you should not weigh yourself every day, you should do it every two or three days (as your weight fluctuates with intake/output such as water intake and bowel movements).

Ideally first thing in the morning, after using the toilet. Weigh yourself at the same time every day to get an accurate reading.

It doesn't matter a great deal unless you are having huge meals, as long as you are consistant from day to day.

The best plan would be to get up first thing in the morning, empty your bladder, and then weigh. Knowing how you are doing right off might also be encouragement for the day or motivation to do better.

Some people are better off not weighing every day, though. If it bothers you or depresses you, weigh once a weeks so loss is more noticeable.

Best time is first thing in the morning BEFORE you dress yourself and have had anything to eat or drink and AFTER you've been to the toilet and (dare I say ) emptied your bowels. That way you will weigh yourself and not the pint of coffee you've just drunk and three fried eggs you've just eaten - which could add up to 2lbs to your weight. Same time every day!

Typically, in the am before eating/drinking. But truly, it doesn't make much difference what time of day you weigh yourself. Eating and drinking will only make a 1 - 2 lb difference, if that.

it does not matter what time of the day you weight, but what is important is that you weight at the SAME time every day you weight.
