You should come over to the lighter side of Y!A. Go visit some 360s, go to the Polls & Surveys section (always fun and light-hearted). It's a well known fact that people over here in R&S just dish out insults to each other (which can be funny at times). There is even more mudslinging over at the Politics section (which is also funny).
I mean most of these questions aren't very serious...
"Why are athiests so blind", "why are christians full of hate", "does god exist" (asked like 9,745,642 times), "did you know you're all going to burn if you don't follow [insert religion here]"

Part of the problem on the Religion and Spirituality section is the over-seriousness of both questioners and answerers. The type of seriousness practiced by an overwhelming majority is actually more akin to a sort of narrow-minded defensiveness borne of insecurity. People take things too seriously in here, and they thus lose perspective. There is nothing wrong with having fun, even with the most serious subjects. This is different from "making fun," however, I might be quick to point out.
I do not wish to be forced to walk on eggshells just because someone might get offended, but I also do not seek to give offense. There is such a thing as "serious fun," and it is the spirit of debate and exchange of ideas that interests me in here, NOT the need to push my beliefs or ideas on others. I don't care if I convert a single person; I look at this place as a philosophical forum with a lot of touchy people in it. The moment it stops being fun is the moment I leave.

Ha, ha, you are so right, Mr. None of Your Business!! It is addictive. And I also think it's fun. For me fun is to challenge my brain trying to ask and answer difficult questions and to challenge other people use their brains for a change so that forum fits me perfectly. I guess it depends on how you look at things. And then, how can it really harm you? Nobody knows who you are so you are physically safe. As for words, they can't harm you, if you don't want them to. Just laugh at people's ignorance and keep going!

I enjoy answering some serious questions, if you want to have a really good laugh though, go to the Politics Sections. There's a guy named Shiraz who always asks trashy questions, but I have to admit, some of them are funny.

all our minds work differently. What you may consider funny, to some one else it would be weird and dumm.To those of us that use this sight, to some ,our answers are heart felt and serious, cause that would be how we interpratated a question.
You gotta understand, every looks at and analyses things differently than you.

People like to think they are very important. One way to feel important is to ask very thought-provoking and serious questions. They don't realize they just look a bit silly to those of us who are here just to have fun or kill time.

This forum does not attract the attention of normal people; all we get is religious extremists and the occasional random normal person. If you are today's random normal person, be warned that this forum is addictive and tends to polarize people instead of bringing enlightenment.

it is not fair to want to exclude someone because you find them insulting. usually if a statement or question bothers you that much there may be some truth to it. besides, feelings like that are personal and should be dealt with from within. to sum it up, it's your problem you get offended.
