I just bought a microwave and trying to figure out where to keep it. I thought about keeping it on the fridge, but then someone told me that it is not safe. I dont think there should be any problem. What do you guys say?

Keeping it on the fridge will not pose a problem as far as functioning goes for either appliance if that is the question.
Safe as far as falling off on someone, I don't know about that.
It depends on how much your fridge vibrates when the compressor kicks on and off. You may want to set it on a non-slip mat if that is a worry. You can get it at department stores usually where the kitchen drawer liners are located. We set ours on top of our fridge at college for 4 years...never had a problem.

Microwave On Top Of Fridge

As long as the fridge has a flat top it will not be problematic. There is no technical reason. The inside of the fridge is insulated so there will not be any heat transference. Other than that I cannot imagine why anyone would tell you it isn't safe. I put mine up there in a former flat and other than it being a little high up, encountered no problems at all. But I'm 6' - 4" tall. It might be different for someone shorter.

I dont think that would be a wise idea.
First of all there is a practical fact that if you place your microwave on the top of your fridge, it will not be very comfortable for you to put things to cook in the microwave and then taking them out when ready. Besides not comfortable, it may be unsafe as you may burn yoursefl or you may spill the liquids you heat on it. I dont know the height of your fridge but I asume it is a standard one. Then take into account that when either each of the appliances start working they may vibrate. For example if the fridge compresor starts vibrating it may cause either the microwave to move (which is not recommended as it may damage the microwave if it is working ) or also fall.
Secondly it will not be safe because most fridge manufacturers recomend not to place anything on top of the frigdes as this may cause the fridge to malfunction or overheat. This will make the fridge engine to over work.
I would suggest you call any representative of your fridge's brand in your area.
Also, a good idea and safer one as it will avoid any doubts, is to buy a wall hanger for microwaves which are cheap and easy to install and are specially designed for small spaces.

Yes, it is safe on top of the fridge.

The only hazard of a microwave is the radiation it emits, however, this has nothing to do with where it is placed, so once you are open to using a microwave, go ahead and place it where ever you wish.

Only thing, put a rubber mat made of rubber and 1/4" thick. The other problem is on top of the fridge, you could pull something out hot on you.

i had my lil "clock that occasionally cooks" food on top of the fridgerator for about five years, until I upgraded fridges and it would no longer fit up there... I liked it so much, that when it came time to find it another home, I cried.

Try to put a wood plate beneath the rubber mat because the oven is heavy and it leaves marks.
