The information needed to add a dependent is:
1. Name exactly as it appears on the Social Security card
2. Her birthdate
3. Number of months she lived with you
4. Her income in 2006
5. If she did not live with you, a signed release from the custodial parent giving you the dependency exemption (Form 8332).

Can anyone else claim her as a dependent? Other than that you need her birthdate and SSN. I think the form asks you if the said child has lived with you all of 2006. If she was born in December 2006 I think you can claim her -you still need a SSN.
Check with a tax filing agency or the IRS themselves.

You must have her for at least 6 months out of last year, and have her social security number.

Name, birthday, social security number. If she works (according to how old she is) you may have to claim her income as well...check with the IRS and your local government.

She'll need to have a SSN. You'll need to know that, her name, and her date of birth.
