If you're purpose is learning Italian, go straight with Italian; once you know Spanish or Italian, learning to other language should be easier, but remember they're similar, not identical and sometimes you may result confused when something is different, instead; so, unless you have other reason to learn Spanish, it's better focusing on Italian only.
About Romanian, I know a bit and for sure is way more different from Italian than Spanish or even Portuguese.

if you watch the grammar, it doesn't matter which language you start with. i had problems learning spanish after learning italian, because i got confused by the pronunciation... i guess this might happen as well if you learn spanish first...

If you want to learn Italian, just go for Italian. No need to learn any other language prior to it.

I think you should learn first romanian and then there will be no necessary to learn Italian. Romanian and Italian are very alike. Women from Romania are working in Italy without learning anything.

I'm fluent in Spanish, and when I took a semester of Italian it was a breeze because they're so similar. I don't think it matters which you do first as they're so much alike once you've studied one of them, the other will seem fairly easy.

Why should you loose your time learning a different grammar and vocabulary, go for Italian if it is what you wish to learn
