The boss may be trying to save money, is your company stable?
My husband worked for a company that employed 4000 people that been around since the civil war and it closed it's doors forever back in June.. It was a total suprise for most of the employees.
Start wearing more layers of clothing to work, and keep something on your desk to warm your hands periodically. Update your resumee, don't leave anything of value that belongs to you in the office overnight, just incase they do a suprise lock out of your office. Update your address book with the names, phone numbers and address of the people in your work place that may make a good reference for you if the worse happens.

Hi, this is a very good question that most of us experience everyday but never ask. I have seen many around me complaining almost everyday. My answers:
a) Eat something. Believe it or not. Try it and tell me. I will be glad to hear from you.
b) If you know that the thermostat doesn't work
or outside temperature is cold, then wear a sweater or pullover
Cheers, Ssp

I don't know why, but my office is freezing also. I have a front office and I am surrounded by glass. By boss is in the back with no glass. So all day I'm turning the heat up and he's turning it down.

Get a thremometer in, check the temp. There are legal limits to how cool an enviroment you are expected to work in. Generally the more sedentary the job, the higher the office temp should be. Measure it, ifs its legally too low (check health and afety regs online of with union rep) complain to teh management and threaten action if temp is not increased!;

What type of office is it? As far as medical clinic offices, the heat is kept low to keep the germs down. Germs are not as likely to spread in a cooler environment.

Lol, guess not helping the size is it??
but simply because your office is too cheap to put multiple sensors around the office along with the vents. so they just check out one location and they dont care about hte rest of hte ROOM- building !!
it happens.. i used to take my sweater in winter to my office because it would be COLD as freaking HELL!! (If hell ever froze over)

some office studies have shown that a cold room keeps workers productive and alert. same thing for casinoes, plus it cuts down on heating bills.

Because it's so #$%% cold outside. why don't you put some %^$#$@ clothes and cover your #$%% and your @#$%. Seriously, why don't you sneak over to the thermostat and jack it up a little. Unless you have building wide climate control then you are out of luck, you'll have to talk to your facilities supervisor.
