Didn't used to be, it was then sold under the brand name Coca Cola. But after cocaine was made illegal and perhaps before that the company quit using that ingredient.
Cocaine energy drinks are illegal unilaterally in the United States of America. And I suppose since it is considered an enormous problem likely to be illegal elsewhere except Sweden (I think).
What do ya know... I found a reference to the energy drink called "Cocaine" in a Readers Digest December 2006 pg 26 in the thumbs down section.
The company is called Redux Beverages, the owners are James and Hannah Kirby and they are marketing an energy drink by that name "Cocaine".
So apparently it is legal pretty much everywhere as it does not contain the substance for which it is named.

I read an article in either Stuff or FHM on this energy drink and I believe that they said it was illegal in all of the U.S. Definitely had my interest peeked. I would like to try it.

back in the early 1900's it was - at the time it was called Coca Cola.

But after a while the authorities decided Cocaine BAD and Coca Cola became just a carbonated, caffeinated, flavored sugar water drink.

Since then.....BANNED everywhere!
