The Virgin Mary is the most loving of all mothers. She gave us Our Saviour Jesus Christ by Her Fiat and loving co-operation with God's redeeming plan. She suffered tremendously all her life alongwith Her Son. Which earthly mother does not feel the pain of her child as her own? And She was no ordinary mother. She sacrificed that we may have Her Son. She suffered mockery, humiliation, tiring travels to foreign lands and painfully watched as Her Son suffered everyday upto the ignominious Passion and the agonizing death on the cross. She loves us because we were given to Her by Her dying son on His deathbed (the Cross). The last words of ones loved ones are most treasured. Be certain that when She was offered to us as Mother by Our dying Lord she took those words very seriously and remains a Mother to us whenever we cry out to Her for Her help , prayers and intercession.
How much do we owe this Gentle Woman? Yet all She receives even now is rejection and curses. What hurts me most is that she is misunderstood by non-Catholics who accuse us of worshipping Her. We do not worship Her but we do love Her and honor Her greatly because of Her status as Mother of God. Just as a child in grave trouble would rush to his mother and ask for her help or prayers, so do Catholics rush to their Heavenly Mother for prayers and intercession.
If earthly sons and daughters are commanded by God to honor their mothers how much more does Jesus, Son of God honor His own Mother?
If earthly children love their own earthly mothers so much and would condemn anyone who would dare hurt their mothers, how much more would the Son of God, Jesus Christ condemn those who would dare to dishonor, disrespect and tarnish the reputation of His Mother's perpetual virginity and Her favor with God?
The least a non-catholic could do is respect his Heavenly Mother and not condemn Catholics who love and honor Mary. Mary is my Mother and Im proud of being Her child. Im proud of rushing to her for her help and intercession, as a little child rushes to its mother with a bruise on its knee. I know Her prayers are powerful because She is powerful before God because of Her status as Mother of God and all mankind.
I pray the Rosary everyday which is a powerful prayer against Satan who hates the Virgin because She brought forth Jesus Christ and is the one who will crush his head with Her heel. It is a beautiful prayer I say with the Virgin who helps me strengthen my relationship with Jesus . All the prayers are scriptural which you says out aloud and mentally contemplate the particular mystery for each decade of the Rosary for example- the Agony of Our Lord in the garden, the Scourging of Our Lord, the Anunciation, the Presentation etc: Amazing prayer with powerful results!

She is the most special of all simple human beings. She had to have been very holy and specially designed by God to be the vessel of the living God. But my relationship with her is an understanding that relating to her son is pretty much a lifelong pursuit for me and though I hold her in highest honor among human beings. I am too jealous of the time I spend with Jesus, her son to spend much on her.
I believe that she is content with this and wishes that many more people would feel the same way.

Just another Soul who needed Christ. Her Family Relationship didn't translate into a Spiritual Relationship.

To me, Mary was the only human being who was genuinely able to say "Behold the handmaid of the Lord". We can only try to imitate her obedience.
