The church is not a building but God's people coming together to do his will. We are the body of Christ and guided by the Holy Spirit.

The answer is in your question, but you can come up with a never ending list of synonymic phrases to call the Church if you wanted to.
But to answer your question
God created man, so we are his people.
The body of Christ, the word body means organization, just like student body, so the organization of Christ (God)
The temple of the Holy Spirit, a temple is a place of worship, and in this case to worship The Holy Spirit (God)

Each of those titles refers to scripture verse(s) in the New Testament in which the church is called that.
People of God: 1 Peter 2:10
Body of Christ: Romans 12:5, 1 Corinthians 12:12,27
Temple of the Holy Spirit: 1 Corinthians 6:19
Read the verses and it will explain why each title is used.

God always teaches from analogies in the Bible. God uses human terms that are understandable to humans to explain spiritual truth that cannot be understood by human reason. Often times it take more than one analogy to explain some spiritual truths as is the case here. Different analogies are used to give understanding of different facets of the Church. Some analogies used are to:
A human body (Head - Christ, Body - Church, Members of body - ministries in church)
A Temple (A dwelling place)
A marriage (Christ the husband- Church the Bride)
A building (Christ - the foundation, Church - structure)
There are a number more.
