Why must we always fight?

Question

If humankind put all the energy it uses to fight in to loving, think what we could accomplish!

Look at what people power can do- look at how it inspires! Have you ever seen the footage of the crowds dancing on the Berlin Wall? The sun shines on occassions like this, those moments so wonderful they exist for the betterment of the whole world, to be captured on film and in the hearts of those witnesses lucky enough to be present.

If we all put as much effort in to creating times like these as we do fighting, bickering, bullying and slandering one another, imagine what life would be like!

I see a world where machineguns exist only as museum exhibits, and all the old battlefields have grown out in to wonderful gardens were the children of the old soldiers play each day until the sun sets, the offspring of both sides of every conflict.

Maybe one day, if we are all willing, it might happen...and then there would be no need for heaven, because we'd have it right here.

Imagine if the Gardens of Paradise were right outside your window?

Humans will always fight because they do not have in-dept understanding of all that is going on around them and seem to find it hard to accommodate individual, societal, ethnic e.t.c diversities.
The refusal to adopt the greatest concept in life,LOVE,unconditional love for one another, will go a long way in preventing humans from tapping into all its possible potentials.
It is a pity that the situation is like this, you know, when some people see the pronunciation and exhibition of love as being a foolish act such that whoever is practising it only ends up being taken advantage of.

Great in theory.. Communism was the theory, get rid of all religions, who cause mental differences, and all jobs who cause financial difference, and all fashion designers who cause physical differences, and you would have an Utopia.

However, communism, Marxism etc, forgot to take into account human greed. its the driving force behind every church, every government and the route of all human problems. If we could lobotomize greed from our mental makeup, we may achieve your utopia, but would you go willingly under the scalpel to sacrifice your greed... no, so get used to the pigsty, its where we belong - we reap our own seeds.

Oh by the way, I was one of those idiots dancing on the Berlin wall in 1989. I was dancing with the East Berliners who had been beaten up a few weeks before by the police for demostratingagainst thier failing goverment. I was also dancing in the streets of Jerusalem when King Husain of Jordan flew over the Dome of the Rock in 1994. Bill Clinton had stopped the military funding of Israels occupation of the West bank, and peace was on the table for the first time in 40 years. That was a few months before the Americans started to send more money to Israel, and the peace process ended with an assination.

I hear what you are saying and I agree that this world could use a lot more love and understanding but we all need at least some conflict in our lives, that is how things get accomplished.
Another point being that if we lived in a "perfect" world where no one faught how would the purest of hearts rise above the rest? Without conflict there would be no way to recognize harmony.

You talk about the Berlin wall...those people were celebrating a release from a tyranny that murdered people...it was not a celebration of some rose tinted christian view, it was a release from years of fear and torment. It was violent.

There was no higher feeling that made this come about...it was good old money. The financial collapse of a military empire into the series of federal states we see today.

Eradicate the need for money, along with the ambition to acquire it, along with the power that is derived from it, and remove the notion of any one person being superior to any other...then your grand design might have a chance!.....Just a tiny teeny one!

Imagine if disease didn't happen and everyone stopped being selfish. Imagine if George Bush pulled out of Iraq and China decided to stop polluting the planet.

What you ask for is impossible. Human beings are selfish and bad things will happen, good intent or none.

My thought:
Heaven should be something to look forward to. Where all sin, sickness, fighting, bickering, bullying, slandering of one another will be done away with. Yes, I can imagine it and I do look forward to it. I hope you will too.
