Renting a beach cottage for one week this summer. There will be two adults and two children (one baby, one teenager).
The owner is providing the bare minimum: a few pots, pans and silverware. That's about it...no small appliances at all (microwave, TV, toaster), linens, etc.
Aside from the obvious do you have suggestions/tips to make life easier while we're there? Looking very forward to it and starting to plan already...want to be sure everything's covered! Thanks for any help!

Sunscreen, sunglasses, snacks and games for the kids, a camera and battery charger, TOILET PAPER, cleaning supplies, bug spray, bath towels and a couple of good books. Don't forget things like a can opener, corkscrew, bottle opener, first aid kit, cell phone & charger, a detailed map of the area and swim suits.

Don't bring a lot of modern conveniences. Leave the DVDs and player at home. (I included the cell phone for emergencies.)

You could get yourself a nanny for the baby and a girl/boy friend for the teenager, that way they will both be occupied and you can sit and read a book on the beach without any worries. As for the other adult, maybe he/she likes to fish so they will be out of your hair too unless you want them in your hair. (lol) Plan picnics at the beach, bbq for dinner and fend for yourself for breakfast. Don't forget the sunscreen, life jacket for the baby and lots of snacks because kids and the outdoors mean that they will be hungry all of the time.

If you are not venturing from the beach house, take bare minimum. Bar-b-que, microwave, toaster oven, some warm clothes and cool clothes, food, drinks (I presume there is a fridge), coolers and suntan lotion, personal stuff and enjoy...it is amazing how you can get away with very little....consider your appliances as you would your food and then decide...and Life will be easy when you are there if you relax and enjoy

Go through your normal morning routine. I know I get up, wash my face, brush my teeth, put on deodorant...grab all that stuff and put it in your luggage...that will help you not forget anything.

Always bring a sweatshirt...you never think you need it...but you alllllways do.
