The number 666 is described in the Bible as "the number of the Beast". Some recent studies show that this may have been a misprint, and the actual number may have been 616. It is certainly 616 in some of the earliest manuscripts of the Bible.
It is thought that 666 represents the Emperor Nero, who was an enemy of the both Christians and Jews. If the letters of Nero's name are assigned numbers using the normal method in use at the time, and then added up, they come to 666. Various other people have been suggested.

666 represents Satan's son, the Anti-Christ. It is also the mark of the beast.
In the future, the Anti-Christ will make everyone get this mark on their body. It will either be on the hand or forehead. Why, You ask? He will be setting up a One World Government, where he will have complete control. You won't be able to buy or sell anything without "Him" knowing. In the future, we won't be scanning our credit card, we will be scanning a part of our body which will have ALL of our information (I believe it will be a micro chip implant). If you think about it, they are already setting this up now as we speak. Reasons for getting it? Convience, Medical reasons and lost or stolen children. IF you get this, you will lose all Freedoms.
They will know everything you do, where you are and who you are with.
Doesn't sound good to me at all, reguardless of the religious aspect. Any ONE person who has this much control and information on each individual will turn out to be a Dictator.....Watch and see....
Seriously, his time is near. With all of the wars and terrorism and fighting between Muslims and Jews, a Man will show up with a plan. He will make peace between all, he will appear to have a plan that will make all sides happy with the outcome. Then, after a period of peace (they say about 3 1/2 years) , all hell will break lose and he will have complete control.
So Ironically, as long as there is still war, we are safe somewhat! lol

Six-hundred, three-score, and six, is the number associated with the anti-Christ to come. There are many anti-Christs, because anti-Christ simply means anyone who is against Christ (anyone who doesn't believe in Him or His deity). But there will be one really nasty anti-Christ, and apparently the "number of his name" will be 666.

those sillies say 666 is the mark of the beast also know as satan, lucifer, bealsibub, Oprah Winfrey, or the prince of darkness.
I think when their judgement day (apocalypse) comes they say 666 is written on the foreheads of all sinners. kinda like nazis marking jews with slave tattoos.
