Your mom is right, you won't get salmonella from eating spoiled chicken. However, there is a risk that you could get a little sick. Try cleaning up the food you eat for the next few days (eat healthier) and drink a lot of orange juice. The good food will hopefully help your body to digest the bad chicken, and the orange juice will keep up your immune system. Don't worry, hahaha, you won't die! Hope this helps!

Salmonella is present in raw poultry so you can get it, if the food isn't properly cooked. You also need to clean the surfaces and knives, etc., that you use with the raw meat since salmonella can cling to those surfaces.
